Crazy Weather and Weddings
Thought I'd better drop by and let you all know that I'm still around, although
I haven't been posting much lately. Busy, busy, busy!
We had to go to a wedding on Saturday, and I've been sewing a dress to
wear - very time consuming, following patterns. Got it finished with a few
days to spare though, and was very happy with the result.
The only problem was, it was made for our usual February weather, which is
frequently very hot and windy, since it's the last month of our summer.
What a mistake! On the day, it was 19C in Melbourne, and on Mount Macedon,
where the wedding was, it was only 14C - not at all the right conditions for a
very thin summery dress.
Fortunately, my partner and I had looked at the weather that morning, and
decided to drive up in casual clothes, and change in a public toilet in the town
before turning up at the estate where the wedding was to be held.
On getting out of the car at our "changing room" we immediately decided to
wear the warmer of the two outfits we'd taken. Mine was a blue velvet
dress, and a velvet hooded cloak over it. It was just warm enough although
I can't say my feet enjoyed being in sandals - the toes almost got frostbite,
since I forgot to take the shoes suitable for the warm outfit. :-)
Not to worry, the wedding was beautiful, the food was great, and the wine
flowed freely, so a good time was had by all.
Now if only the climate would get back to normal, and it would rain a bit more.........

And Chris, I've never been to Thailand - what's the coolest season like?

Well sorry to say we are getting close to our hottest time here in Thailand. Around the low 30's just now but quite cool in the evenings.
Hehe well done Jean you have created a world weather thread.

Hi Wendy,
I do use "What my friends are doing" but because of the time differences,
it doesn't help a lot, as it only covers 1 hour.
And I never thought of 14C as 'balmy' before! :-)
Don't think I'd wear sandals in your climate..........

Well, this must be a really boring article, because noone has read it
except me. Happens a lot lately, so I'd better read some of those
selfimprovement articles about how to write interesting blogs! :-)
Ok, catch you all later, I'm off to do the housework! Yech........
