The Harmful Refined Sugars
The Harmful Refined Sugars
When fridges or freezers were not yet commonly accessible, it was common for people in most parts of the world to preserve their foods either by salts or sugars. After drying these foods in the sun for two days, eight hours per day, these foods could remain in good condition for up to three years. Foods preserved by sugars may not last as long as those preserved by salt. However, those items preserved by sugars caused more problems than those preserved by salts as items preserved by salts are normally thoroughly washed before they were eaten.
When my parents told me sweets could cause tooth decay, I never believed them. I should have known better. Sweets not only cause tooth decay, they cause hundreds of other bodily problems. Think many times before you drink that can of cola or aerated drink. All the biscuits, cookies, cakes etc are over saturated with sugar so that they can remain longer on the shelf.
Refined sugar, either white or brown, is the most common “drug†pushed by food industries in every country. Products which contain refined sugar create disastrous conditions when eaten. Many of the known problems so far are: obesity, impotence, sexual dysfunction, colds, flus, fibronmyalgia, immune system disorders, and liver and kidney problems.
They cause liver cells to divide abnormally, increasing the size of the liver, and the amount of fat in the liver. Too much sugars also increase kidney size causing kidney damage, as well as overstressing and damaging the pancreas. Other common problems caused by sugars are hypertension, high blood pressure, headaches, including migraines.
These white or brown sugars give you energy boost but the boost is very short lived. Your temporary feeling of well being may last only one to two hours. Your body has its own natural ability to convert carbohydrates into glucose. Since you provide the sugars in your system, the body’s ability to convert carbohydrates will be destroyed. Would you like this to happen?
If you must use sweeteners, I believe Stevia is probably the only brand on the market now which does not cause any public health concern whatsoever in connection with the use in foods.
If you have not done a glucose analysis during the past 12 months, do it now. The glucose content in your blood must not be less than 70 mg/dL, or exceeds 108 mg/dL. Do it before it’s too late. Very high glucose content in you blood is life threatening.
