Excitement in the Garden

A few minutes ago, I was sitting here at the PC, checking my emails, when one
of my chickens gave its alarm call.

Looked out the window, and there was Brownie, running like crazy across the
garden, with next door neighbour's cat in hot pursuit.

Can't have this happen to my hens, so I raced out the back door to deal with
the situation.

Just before I got outside, there was a loud cat scream, so I thought, "The
chicken has pecked the cat!"    

No way - when I opened the door, the cat-villain was just disappearing over
the side fence, with my cat standing below, hackles erect, and looking very
angry.   

Don't know if she was protecting the chickens or her territory, but either way,
it worked.   And she's not a fighter, by any means.
