Remember Hill Street?
There's been a few blogs lately on old TV shows, and I can't remember seeing
anything about one of my all time favourites.
Remember "Hill Street Blues"? I loved that show - it somehow seemed more
real than many of the other cop shows that were around at the same time.
Of course, it may have had something to do with the fact that I was, at the
time, married to a policeman. "Hill Street Blues" was mandatory viewing
in our house, as it was in most other police homes.
HSB was just about the most realistic show I can remember, in that genre,
as the inside of the station house was as chaotic as the real thing could
sometimes be.
And who can forget the Sergeant sending his shift out with:
"Let's be careful out there!"

I see Joe Spano, who used to be in Hill Street Blues sometimes appears
as an FBI agent on NCIS. Now there's another show I like. :-)

Have added a link to the opening clip at the bottom of the post.
Couldn't get it to play automatically - sorry, but if anyone knows how,
let me know. I'll keep trying anyway.

Love that them music! Must see if I can download it somewhere - I'm
sure it must be available somewhere.
Remember St Elsewhere too - sort of a forerunner to ER really..... another
oldie but goodie.

Oh my goodness I haven't thought about this show in a long time. This was required viewing in my home too along with "St Elsewhere"
I still remember how unbelievable it was around my house that they paired a black cop with a redneck cop, Hill and Renko. And then there was Detective Belker who was a riot biting people. And I still have my old 45 record of the theme song by Mike Post!

I can hear the theme song...cause I remember my parents watching it all the time!
