Fresh Food Rules !

With all the drought conditions, and shortage of water this year, my garden has
really been suffering, and plants just sit there and look sad.

My veggie patch is also suffering, but today I managed to gather a few
things to cook for dinner.

Silver beet (chard) - have to defend this from the hens!
Peas
Broadbeans
Leeks

And a small miracle, saved from the birds - a few beautiful raspberries for dessert -
my favourite fruit!

Nothing very spectacular, but when you can eat your own fresh food, it's sort of
special, and you get a feeling of achievement.     

Now if I can only keep the musk lorrikeets, rosella parrots and fruit bats out of my
fruit trees, there will be some for me to eat and make wine with!      The chickens
have got their beady eyes on the sultana grapes already.   :-)
