How Do You Relax?
You've had a horrible day, bad hair, rough time at the office, commuting blues, the
phone bill is completely over the top, whatever makes a tough day for you.
How do you relax? A cup of coffee or tea, a large martini, veg. out in front of the TV
for a couple of hours? Go out with a friend?
One of my ways to relax is to do some gardening - there's something about getting
some dirt on your hands that brings you back to earth. Gardening gloves are great,
but actually feeling what you're doing is so good.
Another favourite form of relaxing is reading, but if I'm stressed, I can't read something
new. I have to go back to one of my old favourites out of the bookshelf.
Playing with the pets is another great way to calm down. They just don't know how
much they can do for us!
What do you do? How do you cool it when you've had a bad day?

Hey, there's some great relaxing tips there, everyone.
Pets, meditation, the sky, martinis, just about everything.
It's really good to go and have a day out in the bush, panning for gold in
a creek, if we can spare the time, and the weather is suitable. That's
a real batter recharger, fresh air, meals by the creek, getting wet and dirty,
an excellent way to spend a few hours relaxing.
So what if we get a bit stiff afterwards, and didn't find any gold - it was fun!

My evening ritual is a 24-7 Practice.... Martini Hour, Candles, Light Meditation, Good Food, Some mental note taking, a good cigar... if I am inclined and The Bath-- Epsom salts and a final glass of wine....
I don't have to fret about a formal job anymore so "Horrible days" are very few and far between, I'm happy to share... Come to think of it, my Ritual was long in practice even when i was working formally... gives weight to the fact that "Practice Does Make Perfect! "

Hi Cheryl,
It's so true, animals can relax us! I hug my dog everyday...lol, but when I've had a bad day, snuggling with my kids, dog or hubby, relaxes me, of course, unless they are in a bad mood. too.lol.
It has been proven, that having a pet, and snuggling with them does lower blood pressure. People whom have a pet, tend to have lower blood pressure, than those that do not. :)
Candles! Candles everywhere...relaxes me!
A Warm cup of Hazlenut Coffee , that can do the trick!

My preferred method of relaxation is going fishing. Yes I know I am strange but just being on the water is relaxing.
If I happen to catch a fish that is just an added bonus
If I can't do that (like today) grrr. Almost pulled the door handle off my truck trying to get in. Froze solid it is Can't my winter boots. Snow over top my runners so now got wet feet.
Would say just to sit in front of my PC and not go outside at all.
Of course I love a relaxing bath as well

Actually I like a nice hot bath with lots of bubbles, a glass of good wine, candles and some smooth jazz playing in the background!
