Do You Think That You Could Ever Handle Being A Food And Spirits Taster? LOL!

 Most people don't realize that the Food and Beverage Industry has human tasters for every product that's sold. From snack foods (Could you imagine tasting potato chips all damn day?) to soda... I would venture that most people think that when their foods come to market, they are made from strict recipes and formulas... but even in these days of "Lab foods and drinks", human tasters are employed... tasting for product consistancy, texure, smells and whatever else that only the Human palettes can determine...

 

That is an very interesting question as I am a foodie and a wine, beer and spirits taster... considering the fact that most of these people have "educated" their palettes to accomodate the repetitious and frankly, boring, tasting of a uniform product almost every day... most of them really like their jobs, and usually stay with them for life...

The master blender for Johnnie Walker Black, "noses" his way through the 40 or so whiskeys that go into the blend and has done so for 45 years, it is simply astonishing that he comes up with the same consistant flavors that each and every bottle is known for, all over the world! 

If you are sensitive to alcohol, you could certainly appreciate the fact that this guy's nose works at at all, let alone after sniffing whiskey all day, and all night, sometimes... think about it...

Ya know, I could eat an entire cow and drink it's blood, but I can't drink cow's milk without a problem, and so ice cream, is off the menu for me unless it's mad with goat's milk or sheeps milk...

I couldn't imagine have an ice cream tester's job... I'd be in the Hurl-O-Rama Hotel (bathroom) every ten minutes! LOL!

Now as to beer and spirits, I have that educated palette, and tasting them doesn't bother me at all...

I once had a neighbor, who worked at a beer brewing plant a few years back, he would leave a case of beer on my doorstep almost every morning except on Saturday's, 'cause he said that being around beer almost 7 days a week, really made him dislike the stuff, and that he could only drink it when he was off duty, anyhow...

I had enough beer, to cook with, or bathe in, if I wanted too!:)

Dang! There are some neighbors that were really good to have around, and he got himself married, to a bartending waitress, no less, and moved away!:(

G and G, I know you love me, but WHY, Oh WHY? The Pain, Ohhhh, The Pain....

LOL!
