Hi Lisa,

What a great idea! It is very timely too, because as far as Apsense goes, I have just reached my first target ... 50 honor points.

Actually, I like Apsense because working from home, I don't have the social outlet that I used to have in an office or at the theatre. It is more of a personal interest than a business one.

One of my passions is to find ways for parents to spend as much time as they wish to with their children. It breaks my heart to see so many mums and dads having to work, and juggling family with employment, because there is no option. Everyone should have the choice.

I have been fortunate enough to reach my first major personal goal, which was to be able to be a stay home mum and still earn an income. My husband works outside the home, but he enjoys it now because he is not under any pressure, except for the challenges of the work itself, which he loves.

My broader goal now is to help other mums and dads do the same ... one mum or dad at a time. it's not easy, as most people are nervous to even give something new a try. However, I know that sooner or later, as more people realise it is possible (and that internet and scam are not necessarily the same thing!) the word will get around. Especially when it's possible to build from nothing.

How I do this would sound too much like an ad, so I'm not going into it here ... : ) See what happens when you open the doors to a passion ... LOL!!

I would love to hear about the passions, goals and accomplishments of other Apsensers. I really hope that this becomes a popular place to visit and post, and meet new friends.

Thanks again, Lisa.

Penny

PS I love the rainy picture, it's beautiful.

Congratulations on your first 50 honor points on Apsense!

It is so true, I wish too, that couples had more choices about being able to stay home with their children, if they so choose to.

I am glad you like the picture of the rain. I personally love a rainy day.

Thanks for the being the first person to post to this blog! :) Also, thanks for so much support in my efforts! I hope this blog will grow, and we can learn something new everyday from one another and share the joy of each others accomplishments or journeys down the road with them.

Hi Lisa,

I simply must agree with Penny(coincidently who led me here, I watching you girl..lol), great idea you have here!

My life is pretty "topped"(lol) with Passion these days. I have several ventures in the works with many great people...so many of whom I have met here over the last couple of months!

Right now I would have to say that my biggest goal is helping create a safe/ethical place to do business online. There is not a single doubt in my mind that this is the RIGHT community to do it in, just look at what's happening around here lately!

What I feel is my biggest current achievement, Getting involved and Active in APSense, building relationships with so many SIMPLY INCREDIBLE People, you guy's are AWESOME!

So, I'll just leave it at that for now, I'm here to help everyone however I can, so don't be shy! LOL

Wow Wendy,

Your situation is exactly what I mean. Not everyone wants to stop working, but there should be some sort of balance so that you have choice - full time, part time, a bit of each, not at all - freedom to follow your priorities.

I think you are achieving your goal to make more good friends every day!

... and Garnet ... are you following me, boy ... ? LOL

Well I'm glad you found Lisa's blog ... it's a fantastic idea, isn't it? I love what is happening in Apsense. I think I discovered it exactly the right time.

I'm pulling your leg, Garnet. I've found some of the best articles by looking at the "what are your friends doing" widget.

Now Lisa, you have me all inspired. I'm off to do some work.

Goodmorning to everyone! Well, here in the U.S. it's morning..lol. I was up the entire night, food poisoning I presume. So, today really feels like a "new' day for me..lol. I'm such a big baby when I get sick like that..ha..ha. I did manage to get a couple of hours of rest.

I'm glad you guys like this idea of the journal! I think journals are really a good thing! A journal that we all share, I think will be a lot of fun too! I have enjoyed the journal additions that you guys wrote today.

It seems like something magical has been happening here at Apsense in the past week. I know personally, I really started getting more active here just this past week.

think the magic is all in the key word "Paticipation" and..can't leave this one out "Great People". I'm sure many of you have experienced the fun and extra knowledge gained already, just by being active in a social network. Guess I'm a bit slow here..lol, I just realized it this past week, the full potential that Apsense holds. Plus, I have to hand it to you all, what a great group of people here! I've been negelecting my other Social Networks lately. I love it here!

Thanks to Apsense, I'm putting together my Agenda for a World Tour. I've met some great people here and consider them as friends even though they may be a world away. If not for ApSense none of them would ever have crossed my path. So in a way APSense has opened the world to me.

This is a great Idea!! I have accomplished one of my goals getting a brand new car. And to tell you the truth it has actually given me a new lease on life. It has motivated me in ways I can not explain. My next goal is to buy a house. I give my self about a year to do this. Maybe a year and half.

As far as my business goals they are to just succesed in having a online business. I give my self about a year to do this. I can't ever do specifics because life is ever changing for me. But I do have day to day goals. That would get me to where I want to be. Goal setting has never been my forte'.

Good luck to all.

I would like to share in the journal today.

I recently started taking guitar lessons with my 11 year old son.
It's something I have always wanted to learn! I'm not learning quite as fast as my son, but I am determined that I'm going to do my very best. I want to be able to play so bad.

Currently, I learned to play the basic notes for Green Sleeves, but i'm finding the chords to be challenging. I hope in another month, I'll be able to say that I'm playing it. My father is a profesional guitarist and singer. I'm also hoping that I have some of his talents hidden deep within..lol.

Hi all,

You think you have it bad because your kids ask you to park a mile away - mine are hoping that I will leave town! lol

Big Achievement. I am putting together the annual Arts and Crafts Christmas Fair that we run j here - to promote original arts and craft work in the region and also to raise money for the national Cancer Association AECC. We have been doing this for 10 years now and I have been organizing it, with a colleague, for 5 this year.

It is getting really well known and is highly thought of - so it is very exciting and fantastic to see results of our hard work and being able to do something in the fight against Cancer too.

Today was the fund raising day to pay for all the publicity - it went pretty well.so....

Tomorrow is printers day let's see if we make it on time!

Hi Jenny,
I'm glad to hear that the fund raiser went well.
Best wishes on your annual Arts and Crafts Christmas Fair. It sounds like a lot of work, but I'm sure you feel so good about what your are doing.
Nov 13th 2007 15:26
Penny Young Committed   Consultant
Hi Lisa ... Playing the guitar gets easier, especially as your fingers get used to it. I haven't played for years. You may have just inspired me to get it out of the cupboard ... :D

Jenny, congratulations on the fund raiser, and good luck with the fair. I admire anyone who is good at organising things. I hope it's a huge success.

I'm going away on vacation in a week or so, so my small personal goal right now is to get all the Christmas shopping done before I go. That way it won't be a panic when I get back.
