An Ode to the Planet
Its time to get your finger out, “Your Planet Needs You†now
To think about the things you do, and when and where and how?
Use eco bulbs and eco goods, get eco on your brain
Turn some things down and some things off and travel less by plane.
Reduce your Carbon Footprint and become eco aware
And make some changes in your life to help the earth repair.
Think how you can economize and simplify your living
Recycle everything you can, and aim to be more giving.
Start now! Become an eco friend and make a compost bin
And put it in the garden so your peelings can go in.
A bicycle would be more fun than riding in your car
Or walk to work from time to time, its really not that far.
Emissions from your motor car can always be reduced
If you subscribe to Ub-i-ee and give your car a boost .

No one will do it for you by knocking at your door.

Hi Dimitra - It is strange how we can use words in a poem that are almost allegorical in their meaning. As you said "repair the world" is not the usual way of speaking about our world - but it somehow helps to describe the reality of what is needed if we are to improve the present state of affairs

Hi Janet,
I like your poem. I pick out your words "help the earth repair". It sounds so strange! Yes, we have to repair our planet and we must do it now. If our car has problems, we fix it or if it is too old we throw it away. We cannot do it with our planet, we cannot throw it away. We have to fix it now because through our own doing this planet has so many environment problems. We are responsible to "hand over" it to next generations in good condition as we received it from our parents.
