I am at a loss today...
Seems like there has been a fair bit of debate around the community lately, almost seems as though some people would rather compete with each other than help each other. I have even seen some pretty childish bickering and complaining between members, for whatever reason, thats between them and they should keep it that way. When we compete we all lose.
Now, I ain't perfect, much as I'd like to be, and my remarks may seem competitive too, really they are just my opinions, attempts at real conversation if you will. If we need to challange anyone, it should be ourselves, our own ways of thinking. Don't think for one second my thinking hasn't been challanged here at apsense, it has and continues to be, and I love it!
Back to whats really bothering me, what made me come home from work during my lunch break just so I could get this off my chest already. The wining and complaining I have seen lately is enough to drive me up the wall. I don't care whether it's that someone isn't topping blogs, or someone isn't leaving comments, someone isn't taking the right action or whatever. Complaining proves nothing! It just gets everyone fired up, thinking in a negative fashion, and guess what, nobody's happy! You know, apsense was pretty awesome before all the bells and whistles that we now have were added. If all people are going to do is complain about how people use these features maybe we should just lose them. THE ONLY ACTION WE SHOULD BE TAKING IS INSPIRED ACTION, PERIOD! I'm sorry but the negativity of it all is driving me over the edge. The thing that makes this community great is the people, the people are the one thing that can decide: Do we make it great, or do we tear it down and destroy it just to serve our own selfish desires?
So, if you want to top or drop this, whether you want to leave a comment or not, no matter what you think of me, WHATEVER, Tell Me or Don't, I DON'T CARE! even if you think I'm a total jerk, it doesn't matter. I'm looking for enlightened, real discussion from forward thinking people. I will not disregard any remarks, good or bad, just be prepared to deal with my honest feedback, and just maybe together we can grow into some magnificent!

I agree with your statement yesterday I posted on a blog by Lynn that stated Are you a good group Administrator? I repied that my feelings were offended and they were. Today I tried to post to my own created group and I have now been told I am not allowed to post to this group any longer.

You've definely got a point there, when I posted this blog I felt disgusted with the negative things I was seeing. This really seemed to be the turn around point for not only myself but a lot of the community if I could be so bold to say so. The positive cannot exist without the negative, we must reconize this and none the less never allow it to be an excuse for being negative.

I believe that without negativity there can be no reason for positivity. But we've got to learn how not to let negative people ruin things for everyone. We can all be that one tiny candle that changes darkness to light. We just need to get it out from under the bushel and let it shine.

I agree, there are two types of competition. But like Thea said, it is up to YOU to determine YOUR response to both. I like the old adage of killing your competitors or enemies with kindness, seems to work better for me as I am still able to look myself in the eye in the morning and feel good about what I did the day before. I cannot control someone else's response or thoughts but with a little grace, maybe I can help them with a better outlook on things.

Thanks for your remarks about competition, have to agree a little healthy competition can be a good thing, as long as people have the right attitude and it is more about expanding your own horizens other than trying to defeat your opponent. With good healthy competition, everyone wins!

I look at competition in 2 ways...
Healthy competition - where we all provide or represent the same product (or opinion), we just deliver it to others in alternative ways...
Agressive competition - This is the bad one... this is where no matter how hard you try or what you do, someone will try to do better (and often destroy your efforts in the process)...
I am a passionate believer in "Healthy competition" but i do not like to see "Agressive competition".

LIFE! My favorite subject! Negativity/Positivity, seems like you can't have one without the other. If it wasn't for the negativity I would have never wrote this blog lol! Seems to me a some point we should be able to leave the negativity behide us though, most of us have seen enough of it in our lives.
