Would You Believe That Some Ad Agencies Get Paid To Create Ads That People Will Hate? LOL!

It is said that "Hatred can bind you to a person, place or thing as tightly as Love can..."

The above lesson came from a book that I read back in the 70's called "Seth Speaks"...

If you have stopped to notice the trend for TV ads to be more and more annoying, as the products grow more and more disgusting, you've probably caught a whiff of the practice of "Irritate, Interrupt and Sell" -- Which is just one more way to invade our lives with an endless stream of annoyances... Why has Marketing become so prevalent in our everyday lives, that it almost seems inescapable?

The short answer is this: "The Profit Motive!" If these pieces of video debris that float across our TV screens weren't making money, you would never see them again.

Have you ever actually noticed how some of this stuff goes out of the way to evoke a response, even a negative one from you? I would find myself habitually using the remote several times during the average TV show's length of 1/2 hour... most of the the time, I felt no strong emotions as I "zapped" a commercial, but sometimes, within 3 seconds or so of viewing an ad, a wave of annoyance would proceed my zapping, and there you have it... "Ad Imprinted On Brain"... products would be remembered whether I liked them or not... Like that one for the mucous reducing product- I disliked the ad for it so much that I would never use that product, ever!  But one day, I caught myself about to recommend the same product to a client who was having a terrible bout with the flu and congestion... The name had implanted itself...

I am now on a TV fast because I want to clear up some of the junk that I've contracted over the years, and it's working very well!  I certainly recommend it for anyone, especially us "Creative Types"... :) Have a few Laffs from my article below:

 "Ads That I Hate!"

There are plenty of commercials that I hate and the funny thing is that I'm in the advertising business! LOL!:)

The most annoying are the prescription drugs offers that are made to make you think that you've got every symptom in the book- from E.D. to Diarrhea and some exotic stuff that nobody's ever heard of until they created a drug for it! LOL!:)

The worst part is their poor and inconsiderately bad timing- who really wants to see a commercial about incontinence, right after a beer commercial- or hear about feminine itching after a lingerie ad?

And then there's those loud and obnoxious discounted car ads- Those yelling carsalesmen totally make me NEVER to want to buy a car again- is that the way they greet their customers?

Half of the time, the ads never get to the point of what the product really does- They are simply trying to "entertain" or scare us into buying stuff...

And then there's The "News"... these days it's all just one big commercial that made to look and sound like news- they even have "pop-up" and banner ads for fun products while the news presenter is talking about the latest crime-of-the-day! Go Figure...

Yes, you'll probably wonder why it's worth it to watch TV at all, these days- you get bombarded with non-sense every seven minutes- and you are paying for the privilege with higher energy costs- I can't stand ads for Utility companies, either... too slick and phony for me- all their garbage goes right out the window when I open my bills!

Here's some laffs from Vicky's Jokes for you:

Have a great day and turn off that TV before it makes you go broke AND crazy!:) LOL!
