How to invite and accept contacts - APSense Help
by Bj aka Bill Brown Hosting and Backup Service provider How to invite and accept contacts - APSense HelpI am writing this explanation because frequently a member wants to accept a contact but ends up not approving them.
This happens if while checking out the profile of the requesting member that sent the invite you click on the "Add To My Contacts" button instead of "Approving" them.
To invite a contact
When you see a member that you would like to be a contact you can either click on their picture or on the user name next to their picture.
This will take you to the member’s profile where you will see below their picture an "Add To My Contacts" button.
When you click on the button the page will refresh and the button will disappear and be replaced with "Being in Review"
The member will be sent a message that a contact request has been received.
To Accept or Deny a contact request.
When you receive a contact request notification it will tell you to go to "My Contacts"
To do this click on the "View My Contacts" on the right hand side of the page in the "My Shortcuts" area.
This will take you to the "Waiting for Review" tab on the “My Contacts†page.
To view the requesting members profile you can click on their picture or on their user name just to the right of the picture.
If you want to Accept the invitation do not click on the "Add to My Contacts" button on their profile. This will not Approve them it only sends a counter invitation.
It will also mean that although they accept the counter invitation they will not be able to communicate with you as you have not approved them.
To Approve the requesting member you need to go back to the "Waiting for Review" page where you will see to the right of the requesting members information two buttons. "Approve" and "Deny"
If you want to accept then click on the "Approve" button, alternatively if you do not want to accept click on the "Deny" button.
In both cases the page will refresh and the requesting member will disappear from the "Waiting for Review" list.
If you clicked the "Approve" button you can now click on the "Approved members" Tab and you will see the requesting member now listed there with the options "Contact" and "Deny" to the Right of each approved member.
If for some reason you no longer want to accept messages from a member you have approved then you can click on the "Deny" option.
They will then be moved to the "Denied Members" section.
By clicking on the "Denied Members" tab you can see who you have denied and if you decide you want to Approve them again just click on the "Approve" option and it will move them back to the "Approved Members" section.

How long does a request stay in "review" ? Do you think ApSense will let us see those listed? Oct 9th 2007 19:59 |
