Cut MORE Trees To Save The Planet?
Could cutting down more trees actually help battle climate change?
See what co-founder of Greenpeace had to say about it here;

The Future of Forestry
We've had some discussion, so far we all seem to agree that the worlds forests do need to be managed. Some areas are more advanced in their practices than others, and there are most likely different issues present in the different "systems" or "zones". We have barely scratched the surface so far, here are just a few issues that will be discussed in the coming weeks: So who decides what is the proper way to manage our forests anyways? How do we ensure that our governments are doing what they should be to maintain the resource and reap the maximum benefit for the enviroment? What products should we be producing out of this resource, which one's should we not produce? Is there really any value present to the idea of agroforestry?
Looking for valuable discussion and any facts you can bring to the table, I have worked in this industry as an insignicant player for over a decade. Today I am at a point where I know I have the power to make some positive change to the industry right here at home where I live. Together I know we if we face the issues objectively we can come up with some real solutions that we all can have faith in. All feedback is appreciated!

It is the new and exciting breed of trees for the pulp wood market! When scientists figure out the chemical make up and what chemicals it takes to break it down into pulp. Our market is established! Regrettably as far as we know, no market is established. (as of yet).....once scientists break it down...than it is on like donkey kong :0)
As for anything being compared to going down the toilet I have said is....? Pulp makes toilet paper?
None of us can go back to make a brand new start...but can

Garnet,
Establish a management team for your region. Get a petition signed that you want one manager to manage your region. This person that you hire, will show abundant and unaccountable proof that forests are not being managed properly.
Sincerely,
Ronnie Wynne

You'll have to clear this statement up for me: "Our market is established! Regrettably as far as we know, no market is established." As far as I know, the pulp markets are still in the toilet!

Kind of figured you knew a lot for an internet security advocate! Hello Ronnie, would consider hiring you if it were up to me. Don't even get me started on the govt. here! We also have small amounts of larch and white birch here, thev've even sheerbladed the birch down just so they could plant spruce! The larch gets logged around and left to die too!

As for the hybrid, will grow in any climate managed right. Hybrid= mix between sycamore and pine. It will be merchantable for pulp wood when established.

We definitly have the wrong managemnet team in place!
Known this for as long as been in business!
As for your hybrid, I know there will be some controversy there, aside from that, does it conform to a Northern climate? It is a mix between what species of hard/softwood? It is merchantable into what kind of products? And who am I talking to right now, Jenn or Jenn's Fiance? LOL

Red wood has plenty of value, but the history is the utmost importance of this tree. And the diminishment of red wood is a sad and unfortunate fact of life.
There again, is why the nation or the world, is in need of forestry management.

You obviously have the wrong management team in place. Nature works on an even kill. As long as you do not stir the balance; and you maintain a healthy balance between the hardwood and pine. You will have no problem.
Tell them there is a new tree. A hybrid. A cross between hardwood and soft. It is said to be merchantable within 5 years after planting. And replanting is not required. When you cut these trees in 5 years you can harvest again; they sprout from the same stump. No more pla

No worries here about the Red Wood, none here. What sets Red Wood out from everything else?

What do you mean leave Aspen and Spruce alone? Aspen is hardwood and Spruce is softwood. They are also basically the two main species here. Please Clarify

In my region the forest management personal are doing whatever the giant monoply of a company tells them to do! Funny that that partcular company has cut most of the desireable wood now and all but shut down their operations here, leaving many out of work. Won't go to much further into that though, it may start to turn ugly for my tiny wood company!

To answer your question....leave spruce and apsen alone!

Logging in the State of Georgia is managed. We produce paper, makeup, any and everything that you can think of by means of cutting these trees. Although, cutting these trees may have an impact on the beauty of the landscape. We need these resources. As long as we manage our natural resources, and keep them on an even kill. No one will have to worry about the 'necessities' of life. And when we replant; in 5-15 years, we renew our supply.
Leave broad leaf, hardwood, fruit bearing trees AL
