How To Start to Squidoo

Squidoo allows you to build a "lens" which is basically one page jam
packed with info and money making links. Here is an example of one of
my lens: http://www.squidoo.com/simpletraveltips/ It helps to get very targeted (something I wish I knew before starting)
If you have a google toolbar you may want to start typing a search
phrase you think others are looking for related to your field of
expertise. I think "how tos" work great since lots of people are
looking for these online. (I have not made a "how to" lens yet but will
be next free time slot.)

So once you have a topic then start:

*** Step 1 *** The first page you are taken to says:

My lens is about: ____________________

Fill this in with your topic like: "How to advertise your home business"

*** Step 2 *** The next page will ask you:

What you want to do with your lens?

This gives you options like "I just want to do my own thing" - select one.

*** Step 3 *** The next step is your lens title. It defaults to what
you filled in on the first page. If this is fine leave as is or change
if you like. The next box is to pick your url. This is important since
you will not be able to change later. It will look like this:

Next box asks you to choose a category. After choosing a category you
need to give your lens a rating which will be "G" unless you have adult
content.

Click Step 4 >> You may find that it tells you your url is taken in that case try adding or removing hyphens.

*** Step 4 *** Tags This page will say:

The best keyword for my lens is: _____________________

This will be filled in with your default words from description. You
will need to add a few more words. Later you have the option to add
even more.

Click Done! Your lens is made but now you have to add content before it can be ranked.

Start filling your lens.

The only module you have right now is the introduction.

Click edit and write a little about your topic. Click Save *** Very Important ***

Click edit again to upload a picture for your introduction. Click Save!

Add Modules -- Here is the fun part!

I like the amazon module and the plexo lists and polls fun. You can add more text modules for articles, etc. Enjoy!
