Camping in the Woods
RSS Feed: Saturday March 31, 2007.
My Camping Mall is intended to provide a full range of products for the occasional camper and the serious camper as well as the foot camper and the camper who travels by vehicle (car, SUV, RV, truck, or other). One of the most important consideration when camping is one's sleeping accommodation. This is important whether you're traveling by foot or by vehicle. When camping, most people use some type of tent. Tents are often classified as a 1-person, 2-person tent or a family tent. Be sure to check the height dimensions to determine whether there's standing room, sitting room or just lying room. Irrespective of the classification of the tent, one should always check the actual dimensions of it. One should also check on how the tent is configured (whether square, rectangular, round, narrow, etc.). That brings up the question of how one will fit inside the tent. Be sure and also check the height dimensions of the tent to determine whether there's standing room, sitting room or just lying room.
The Rugged Camper

My Camping Mall (http://www.mycampingmall.com) provides the right gear for the rugged camper. Depending on the nature of one's planned trip and the weather and terrain, camping gear will be provisioned accordingly. If the terrain is mountainous and cold, one will need to dress appropriately wearing climbing boots and warm clothing. If also rain is forecasted, then, certainly rain gear is appropriate. In fair weather that's sunny and warn, lightweight and ultra-lightweight clothing must be considered. In addition, if the land provides a source of food (fruit, vegetable and fish) and water, such source can serve to lighten the load of the camper. Whether hiking to the campsite or driving to the destination, navigation equipment (map, compass, and GPS) will be an important consideration. The AAA travel service organization can be helpful with maps and information about what one might encounter along the route.

Oh, what a thrill to go hiking through the woods. My camping mall (http://www.mycampingmall.com) is what it's all about. There is so much to do during a hiking trip. You can stroll through the forest. You can climb a mountain. You can walk along the lakeside. You can go fishing. You can go swimming. You can play a sports game. You can just go hiking. Or, you can just sit around the camp fire, cooking, eating and getting stuffed. Another delight of hiking and camping is watching the sunset, watching the stars at night, or glazing over water fronts, especially if you're lucky to have the moon's reflection over the water.
Zade and Colin in Florida
RSS Feed: Friday April 13, 2007.
Zade and her Colin recently embarked upon a wonderful escapade to My Camping Mall (http://www.mycampingmall.com) more commonly known as "Uncle Bill" in Central Florida. While there on one bright and sunny morning, they found their way to several bodies of water near Sanford, Florida. There they enjoyed the beautiful waters, especially, Lake Monroe, as the sun reflected stunning images of self and surrounding background. These lakes are inter-connected to one another by a moving body of water known as Saint John's River which runs in a northerly direction from the Cocoa Beach area to Jacksonville, Florida where it dumps its contents into the mighty Atlantic Ocean. Well, after thoroughly soaking up the joy of these waters, Zade and her Colin pushed forward to see what else this area offered. Low and behold, they found an area called the "Wekiwa River Basin" where numerous wild animals dwell. Notable among these are the Black Bear, the Panther and the Alligator. Near this area are some historic roads, Route 42, Route 44 and Route 46 running East and West. Well, a little trip west leads Zade and her Colin to a historic town called Mount Dora. Mount Dora is situated along a beautiful lake, known as Lake Dora. Mount Dora attracts visitors from all over the world. It offers views of historic homes, gorgeous souvenirs, funny cards and a fantastic stroll along its streets that are unbelievably exhilarating. Well, time to hit the road again. This time, we're heading south on Route 441, passing through Zellwood with its fruit stands and its nurseries. As one travels further south, there is another large body of water. This one is called Lake Apopka, one of the largest lakes in Florida. Ah, just in time to enter the city of Apopka. This mixed race city has lots of plant nurseries and offers primarily a rural setting for its inhabitants. Well, we've come a long ways and its time to grab a bite to eat. Yes, right here in Apopka. With that, so long My Camping Mall, oops, I mean Uncle Bill. Don't forget to visit his site at http://www.mycampingmall.com.

Some are heavy and cumbersome, especially those used for fishing. Some kayaks are long and narrow while others are wider and shorter but carry more gear. The longer and narrow ones are, generally, faster than the wider and shorter ones. Picking Mushrooms in Alberta

On this trip, My Camping Mall (http://www.mycampingmall.com) takes us back to my Graduate School days when my professor (Dr. Shaw) at Washington State University sponsored a mushroom picking trip to Alberta, Canada. You see, this trip consisted of not only sleeping in the wilderness but also living off the land. We all carried sleeping bags prepared to live off of mushrooms and fish caught out of the Livingston River which runs in the Rocky Mountains between the state of Montana, USA and Alberta, Canada. We entered Banff National Forest and travel to the scenic Lake Louise on up to the Columbia Ice Fields. Sleeping in a sleeping bag in this area in August was still tough because the temperatures got down to freezing at night even in August.
