7 Steps To Use Technorati For Increased Blog Readership
Hi,
I just realised that there will be new bloggers who do not yet know about Technorati, so I wanted to post a bit about that.
Technorati is a social networking, blog rating platform that allows its members to quickly see which blogs are popular, which blogs have been updated recently and to add blogs they like to their favourites list so they can keep track of new posts.
Using Technorati to increase your blog readership is a good idea. Here are a few of the steps:
1. Join Technorati at:
http://www.technorati.com
2. Add your blog.
3. Claim your blog.
4. Favourite your own blog.
5. Add the Technorati button thingy into your blog template, to the bottom section of the individual post html. This will allow your blog readers to favourite each of your posts that they like and this will attract more attention over at Technorati and get your blog more visitors.
Get the Technorati button html via your Technorati account, copy and paste into your blog template.
You may have to play around a bit with where to paste the html in your template... just click the preview button to check until you get it right.
6. Each time you post, visit Technorati and 'ping' your blog... there's a button to do that... and that will let the Technorati blog system know that your blog has been recently updated and it will be listed in the recently updated blog section... again yielding you potential visitors.
7. Use Technorati to find interesting blogs that you can visit, read and comment on so as to leave more breadcrumb trails leading to your own blog. Remember to always be logged in so your name will be clickable, to always write a relevant comment... do NOT spam blogs... and to leave your blog url or site url in your sig.
