Top Tips for Cleaning after a Birthday Party

by Aaron Clifford Author

I hope you had the perfect birthday party. OK, you birthday is over now, lets get back to the reality. Cleaning after a party is never an easy task. Often guests leave the party place really dirty so that it looks like a big mess in the morning. Do not worry. Here are the tops tips for cleaning after a birthday party.

Do a deep cleaning. No matter, if you held the party at home or you have rented a villa for the special occasion, you definitely need to do a thorough cleaning. If your home is newly constructed, you could order professional after builders cleaning London services. Of course, you surely need professional cleaning help for the cleaning a hired place. If you want to save money, you can do the cleaning on your own. I advise you to start with the floors.

First of all, go to every room and look for missing objects. It is really common to have stuff missing. Do not worry. In most of the cases, the possible “robbers” may be your drunk friends. However, the idea is to notice any absence on time, before it is too late. Guests often change the places of things at a party. If the party was held at home, I advise you to put all the things on their right place right after the guests are left. This is really a good practice.

Floors are one of the dirties places after a party. Sometimes it is incredibly difficult to remove drink stains on some floorings, especially carpets. Ammonia and vinegar are really useful for removing carpets stains. However, I personally avoid using ammonia for cleaning, because of its toxic properties. Instead, mix ¼ cup vinegar in a cup of warm water. Put the solution in a spray bottle and apply it to the carpet. I advise you to start cleaning from corners towards the centre. Remember to rinse after the wash.

Disinfect the place. Even if you are sure you know well your guests, it is recommended to disinfect the house after the birthday party. I prefer using chlorine bleach as a disinfectant, as after builders cleaning London cleaners suggest. On on hand, bleach is really powerful and cheap disinfectant. On the other hand, it emits toxic fumes and is really dangerous for your health. Make your disinfecting solution by mixing ¼ cup bleach and 2 ¼ cups water. Get a spray bottle and add the bleach first, because if you add water first, bleach is going to splash over you. Mix the solution by gently inverting the bottle up and down several times. I advise you to use bleach only in well-ventilated areas. Remember to disinfect the most visited zones. Don't forget to clean every door handle.

You now are well prepared for the post party cleaning. I hope you won't find it hard any more.
