Slitter Rewinder, simple and useful

Slitter Rewinder is a slitting machine that works on the principle of roll slitting. Unlike log slitting, this process is a bit lengthy and complicated and yields mults or pancakes depending upon size or quantity. It is ideally used in food manufacturing companies to package the food products. The major raw materials of slitter rewinder are soft materials like paper and plastic films whose huge sheets are resized to variable lengths and widths according to use. 

Straight and circular razor blades are used to cut soft materials while others are crushed using hard rolls. The blades are basically knives slicing the sheets into narrow strips which are then re reeled to form coils on paper, plastic or metal cores. The width and sharpness of the blade can be adjusted to achieve exact and quality cuts. The speed of the cuts can vary from 10 m/min to 5000 m/min depending whether the material to be cut is paper or a metal. The machines can be automated to adjust slitting positions, control tension or aligning the material to core. This method is cost effective and reduces manual work. Examples of materials that can be processed are rubber, papers, plastics, foil, films, foams, plastics, fabrics, adhesives. For hard materials like metal sheets, modified shearing is used which comprises of a pair of cylindrical rolls with identical ribs and grooves and are used to slice huge rolls into multiple narrower ones. The driving factors of these rolls are thickness of work piece, quality of material and their specific tolerances, determined by their geometry. This continuous process is very accurate and economical over techniques although some ambiguities such as burrs (occurrence of rough or irregular edges on the surface of slit) are quite common. 

For metal coils, slitter rewinder comprises of three parts and can be slitted by razors, rotary shears or crush cutting to cut papers, films or foils depending on budget, quality and precision. Slitter rewinder are commonly used in conversion of rolls for cash register, lottery, ATMs, tape, plotter, engineering, ink jet, counters, butchering, crafts, masking, house wraps, films, landscaping and many more products.
