A home is a basic requirement and fundamental need of any living organism on this planet. Human kind has been the phenomenal breed to build up their homes with intelligence than any other animal. However, it is the human being only who has to think about the resources when it comes to building a home. Be it the construction material, resources or money, all of these aspects have to be compiled to get a decent living as we cannot go and build our houses anywhere like the animals do.

This basic right is deprived for many dwellers of our country due to the lack of resources or money especially for those who are below the poverty line.

It is our beloved Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi who is the primary reason behind the conceptualization of the PMAY- Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna. Although the concept has been into existence from the Indira Awas Yojna, it is much appreciated that a concept can be incorporated from any Political discipline if it has a genuine reason and utility.

The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna has two arenas of the Urban and rural though both of the components differ slightly in their nature of execution. If we talk about the urban mission, it is meant for the urban people who have income less than Rs.6, 00,000 per annum. It is also ensured on a greater extent that female persons of the family are the beneficiaries of the family and for few females jointly with male members.

The desire of the urban poor people and the under privileged to secure a home for themselves is to be fulfilled with the launch of the most waited scheme Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna.

The plan is to construct two crore homes for the poor urban population including the lower income groups and the economically weak sections of the country. The Government is aiming to finish this project by 2022 by constructing all the houses in different levels of execution. The Central Government is to aid the beneficiaries of this pet project which has four aspects of implementation.

The private sector will be taking up the slum redevelopment as per the initial aspect. Credit linked subsidy will be provided in the second theme. Both the public and private sectors team up in the third aspect and the development of beneficiary led houses is the final aspect.

The Government has brought in every possible component to make this prestigious venture successful. Ultra modern technology is being used in the construction of the houses. An aid of 1 lakh to 2.30 lakh is being provided to the beneficiaries. It is a commendable idea to prioritize the ground floor allotments for the physically handicapped and the senior citizens.

To promote the scheme across the nation so that it can be reached to the much needed people, the Government has requested the Railways Ministry and the Defense Ministry to take up the promotion job of the technologies used for this plan. Ultimately, the final execution only can speak about the quality of the work done. We wish every deserving person to get the benefit from this plan.
