It was founded by John-Clinton Nsengiyumva on August 8, 2008. John-Clinton Nsengiyumva is a Canadian-Burundian living in Toronto. He is a philanthrope who founded the NGD Foundation with the sole aim to change lives of people living in Burundi. The main goals of the Nsengiyumva Global Development organization is to promote various causes such as healthcare and sports in this region so that the people in Burundi can benefit greatly from it.

From the very beginning, Nsengiyumva Global Development has been dedicated to providing top quality healthcare services to people, promote and support education and awareness, empower the common people through media, promote sports activities and carry out humanitarian works. The organization is also a strong advocate of developing a better world where the people can live in safety and have a better and bright future.
