Newbie Swingers - Tips to Get you Started

by Cynthia Monroe Be good to yourself, and others!

So you and your lover have finally agreed to become swingers. After all the advertisements on magazines and on the internet, hearing it from friends, you have finally decided to take that big leap of faith and you are willing and ready to try swinging. It sounds like something that would be fun and exciting. However, the question is, will it be fun for the two of you?

You probably have talked about the idea for several months now and you are pretty confident that both of are okay with the idea of seeing each other go at it with different people. As a matter of fact, the thought even excites you and every time you have the discussion it ends in steamy passionate sex. The rules have been laid bare and plain on the table; safe sex, no anal, safe room, no bi males or single males and most importantly, you must be attracted to the couple – you guys are more than ready.

Being newbies in this practice, the first thing that you should do and that should be at the top of your list of priorities is protecting yourselves. With sexually transmitted diseases. You should not shy away from the thought of incorporating condoms in the practice.

Wannabe swingers who are not willing to take this precaution are just selfish and irresponsible – it is not an accusation of being unclean but rather a safety precaution for the good of the team. Most people do not realize it but swinger couples have lower STD's because they are in it together and are careful with sex.

Discussing it and actually doing it are two very different things. As such, you should not be shocked when you feel uneasy when you see your mate with another partner. You might have thought you are okay with the idea at first but the sight of it has hit you back to reality – it is normal. Talking about it with your partner before the actual occasion can help make the swinging process easy. Talking to other couples and understanding how they handled their first experience can also be very helpful too.

While it is a good thing that you are outgoing and adventurous, you should ensure that you do not come across as pushy. Many new newbie swingers have expectations that are to say the least, unrealistic. You should always be prepared to face rejections. There is no one person that is perfect and you may see the other swinger couple as verbal and attractive. However, you should not let your mind work against you. Prepare for the worst and do not take it personally in the event you face rejection.

Regardless of where the swinging will be, in a private house party or an on-premise club, or a swingers website, always have in mind that you are there to have fun and to have it in abundance without limit, sharing it with those who have a love for this lifestyle. After being familiar with your host and surroundings, introduce yourself to the others who will be more than willing to have you on board and help you blend in.

Other tips that could come in handy is to ensure that you are always prepared, carrying with you everything you might need, be clean (personal hygiene is very important). Given that many swingers are occasional drinkers, if you are a heavy drinker you would be in the wrong lifestyle altogether. Lastly, dress sexy – this is always a plus.

But when all is said and done, you should have a good time, enact your fantasies, be adventurous and explore your sexuality.
