The field has continually evolved to incorporate advancements in technology, and mechanical engineers today are pursuing developments in such fields as composites, mechatronics, and nanotechnology.” And “Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works like roads, bridges, canals, dams, and buildings.[1][2][3] Civil engineering is the second-oldest engineering discipline after military engineering,[4] and it is defined to distinguish non-military engineering from military engineering.”

A career in mechanical engineering or civil engineering is a dream for many. One gets reputation and a relatively higher status along with handsome salaries if they opt for career options in these fields. Since technology is propelling the world growth, the need for civil and mechanical engineers is in high demand and the students who enroll themselves for these two specialties fulfill this demand.

Career options in mechanical engineering

As mentioned earlier, mechanical engineering is one of the broadest engineering disciplines with lots of career options. Mechanical engineers research, design, develop, build, and test mechanical and thermal sensors.  Mechanical engineers also build devices, including tools, engines, and machines.

Since machines are the backbone of and propel growth of all the industries, mechanical engineers are in high demand to make mechanical engineering a favorite stream with lots of career options.

Career options in civil engineering

Civil engineering is a field of study which deals with designing, building, supervising, operating, and maintaining construction projects and systems in the public as well as private sector. This includes construction of roads, buildings, airports, tunnels, dams, bridges, and systems for water supply and sewage treatment etc. As there are multiple career options in civil engineering, civil engineers work in design, construction, research, and education.

Although desired by many aspirants, a career in civil engineering or mechanical engineering is not that easy to secure. You need to work hard and join some engineering forums for discuss about your courses and projects, sure you can learn a lot if you will discuss with other people and you can know how much you learn. The ones who are mentally prepared to devote sufficient time get the promise of high return on investment.
