shedding light on the subject, but rearranging and improving the lighting
placements along with intensity can also improve the functionality and look of
the same space.
There are many solutions for lighting; here is another one
for you which is the most versatile of lighting fixtures because of its contemporary
style of flexibility in sizing and placement. It’s none other than Track Lighting.
Our company is ready to help you guide in each and every step
regarding track lighting and their usage.
Track lighting is a system of lighting where individual
lamps or lighting heads along with the light fixtures are all fitted into a
single track containing electrical conductors and mounted into the ceiling or
wall securely. They can also be hung
with rods from especially high places like vaulted
ceilings and hence can’t be installed in rooms
with low ceilings. Each fitting in the track can be individually controlled as
it has multiple live conductors.
They can be run straight along the hallway ceiling or can be
customized in the kitchen so as to place light right where needed.
Three standard types of tracks are available termed as Halo (‘H’) which
has 3 contacts, Juno (‘J’) which has contact tips 1inch apart and Lightolier (‘L’)
which are 7 inch apart from each other.
Track lighting is manufactured in specific lengths i.e., 4 or 8 foot sections.
As the tracks are of specific sizes, it’s important to choose a perfect track lighting fixture so that it fits
into the track and hold various varieties of lamps to improvise the lighting
effects as desired. Track light fixtures
can be outfitted with either directional spot lights or decorative pendants,
and require only one source of power per track.
Tracks are easy
to install since power is already available in the existing electrical box
mounted in the ceiling. Some track lighting systems use the standard line voltage of
120 volts to power high-wattage bulbs. Others have a low-voltage system which
uses a transformer to reduce the current from 120 volts to around 12 volts. To run each light head that is clipped into the track, power
runs through the track. Heads are available in large, small and mini sizes and
these can be pointed in any direction or rotated up, down or towards side as
desired. For track lighting, line voltage halogen lamps or MR16 (low voltage
halogen) are required.
