Choosing healthy foods is not rocket science!

If you want to eat healthier but you’re not sure where to begin. Start with eating more fruits and vegetables. Often times making a simple salad that combines many different vegetables can really fill you up. But with little children, it may seem to be a bigger task to get them into making healthier choices. Sometimes you need to mix it up, but don’t know where to begin.

The best news is that social media has made it so simple that you don’t have to hunt through books to find a good recipe! Pinterest is one of the easiest ways to find a simple healthy recipe. Take if from me - I was raised old school. I used to hunt through several cook books to find a good recipe, often finding ones with outlandish ingredients that weren’t easy to find. When I was first introduced to Pinterest, I didn’t think about all the great recipes that people submit. From people who pin just a few, like me… To people who actively make tons of different recipes and share them. It’s that easy!

Of course you will find plenty of recipes that aren’t necessarily healthy, but with social media, the book is wide open. When I realized that I could easily search to find exactly what I was looking for - or even find something that I could alter one or two of the ingredients… My life became easier! At least, it was easier when it came to seeking out a healthy recipe. Head over to Pinterest to see some of the recipes I’ve pinned.


While you’re getting into healthier eating… It is time to start getting a little more exercise. Let’s face it! So many of us have become couch potatoes. If you want to get rid of that tire tube you’ve been carrying around - you have to start moving more than just going over to the fridge. I like to start my mornings by heading over to the gym. But if you don’t have the budget for a gym, you can improve your health by going for a short walk. Walking is one of the best things you can do for yourself. It gets the blood flowing and helps to exchange oxygen. All of this will make you think clearer - especially when you pair it with good whole foods and nutrients for your body.

My typical routine is to get up in the morning, have a light breakfast, then head over to the gym for some exercise. I try to eat a light breakfast - which my include toast with avocado and a cup of coffee. I suppose coffee is my little splurge for the day. I’ve also been taking Wild - A Force of Nature that is filled with down to earth nutrients that work in synergy with my body. When you eat right, your body and mind will function better.

Take the time to consider how you can weave exercise into your day… Even taking five or fifteen minutes to move around. Such as going for a quick walk before you sit down to a meal. Be sure to drink plenty of fresh water to help improve the fluids in your body and flush out the toxins. Remember that if it’s really hot out you want to be careful to keep your body hydrated so that you will be feeling your best.
