I wish there were still a "APSense How To" category, because my article here would have belonged to that category.

Some people don't like the way the groups function since June 24. They want groups to be back to subjects, i.e. just like regular articles, instead of how they are now, i.e. start a discussion limited to 500 characters, with plain text and the possibility of putting either a link, a video or an amazon item.

In the article and comments written on the topic, they say articles are buried under a ton of articles written by too many members. They say other things too, but let's stay positive here.

I have a suggestion. I will mention it to Wincer

At IMfaceplate, they have a nice feature called "related articles." When you write a new one, if the topic is related to 1 or more articles you wrote before, you tick the check box of those in the list appearing the place where you write the article itself.

This way, we would kill 3 birds with one stone:

  1. Without that feature, we would have to put many links in the article, and it would not look professional.
  2. With that feature, we would have access to more articles by the author than simply a list of recent articles.
  3. They would be seen by every member, not just the people who joined the group.
A member in that other article suggest to have moderators approve articles. There are at least dozens if not hundreds of articles submitted daily at APSense. Anyway, the moderators have a specific role. Cheryl described it clearly in an article she wrote. The admins can't do it either. They, like the rest of us, are marketers, busy with other things besides APSense. The admins and moderators are not paid, and checking each new entry would be time consuming. Besides, it would look like "Big Brother", in my opinion.

To have an article see by more members, we already have many different ways:
  • Campaigns
  • Group discussions where we post the article link
  • APSense.Me Live Stream
  • Sending PMs to good friends that wil come to comment and so make the article appear in the network feed of the people connected to you
  • Posts in the Business page for those who are Premium members.
I want constructive comments here, not rants by admins or other members. I deleted comments which didn't bring anything positive to the table. If people wish to see the article written by the admin that I talk about earlier, click here.

related articles is already in action if you observe the bottom of every post. Now I have to admit it is a load of crap that is linked to but its nothing new. There is no need for your suggestion if we get proper access to our groups. also posts in the business page are only to be about that particular business not anything and everything you feel like. The business section is for businesses not affiliate things. Those posting affiliate program info are out of order.

Philippe yes the groups need to go back. Groups are created to give people with a common interest a place to interact with each other. Nor does everyone on APSense need to be subjected to 'articles' focused on a narrow group topic. Forcing people to take part in what they do not want to take part in is not the way to go about things and that is exactly the situation as it stands. Members join groups if they are interested if they are not they do not join. Yet now you are saying write articles and force it on them anyway whether they want to be included or not. Look at the big picture, that is a very good incentive to leave APSense and go somewhere that you are not force fed what you do not want to be bothered with.

bj, once a business page is created, we can do anything we want in it, cause the criteria is to have a business to start with, not just be a MLM distributor or an affiliate of a program or product. If we are not careful and post useless things, we will hurt our business, but that is the business page creator problem.

bj, I guess you are not a member of IMfaceplate. The "related articles" feature there gives me a list of my own articles, unlike what we see here, i.e. articles that are chosen by the APSense script without me having any choice in the matter, and even worse could show articles from competition.

Cheryl, I never said not to join groups. I mention that we can point to an article with a group discussion link. It could bring more readers to the article, or the discussion can simply be in the group itself.

Philippe if we are posting group topic 'articles' we are force feeding people group information that they are not interested in, if they were interested they would join the groups. Instead you are saying post articles in the public feed and then link to the groups. If people wanted the information they would have joined. and for the handful who maybe wuill join the group to get you have dozens more who will come to resent having it forced on them and leave APSense to go to a site that respects their wishes and doesn't treat them like children to stupid to know what they are and are not interested in.

Cheryl, nobody is forcing anybody to anything. If they don't want to join a discussion, they won't. They won't leave APSense because of that, you are overreacting, in my opinion. APSense's Alexa ranking is going in the right direction for a reason.

Philippe tell me that again when reality sets in and all that is left on APSense is the spammers and scammers who are having a field day right now. Sooner or later the professionals will leave and go elsewhere to a site that values them. I have been around long enough to have a good grasp on reality, cater to spammers and scammers give them a platform and that is what you will be left with.

Cheryl, you said it yourself to me some time ago, spam happens on a popular site with a lot of activity, not sites where articles are few and far between

Yes and spam happens on these sites because they are hoping to go undetected among the articles. Ever since the upgrade, spam has overrun the site. I checked the article directory this morning and out of the first two pages only 3 articles were not spam trash. That is 3 out of 40 articles. Now tell me spam is not overrunning the site. Tell me spammers are not having a field day burying quality posts under tons of garbage and we are supposed to wait until their trash is buried under more trash and you think people are going to continue to waste valuable time hunting through this and not go somewhere they are not subjected to it?

They get views, but no or few comments, and so the authors don't brand themselves properly.

There, it looks nice again, with only reasonable arguments presented.

Yes you decided to edit this article to remove several comments that did not in any way fit the spam or abuse categories simply because you didn't like what they said. That is abuse of the delete comment link.

You were getting bolder and bolder in your comments, up to suggesting I am a troll. Please stop commenting here, I am not interested in your opinion.
