The upsides of this system come in many forms- firstly they are cheaper than facilitating the students in a physical classroom. Secondly, the progress and lacking of individuals can easily be tracked through the LMS than in an actual classroom. Also, it is handy for students who are physically unable to attend classes due to several different reasons but yet are interested enough to learn about the topic.

As far as the technical aspects of the learning management system is concerned, it generally requires a server and a web management system to input and record the student data and tracks their performance throughout any given term or course. As for the students, all they need is to sign-up, often with a student ID or password, to enroll into the system. As the students and teachers are then categorized and arranged according to courses they took, the teachers can then help them to get familiar with this learning platform and to use it effectively.

All in all, the LMS is a great tool for remote learning or tracking student progress outside the classroom over longer periods of time.
