Newbie Guide to Branding

by Dean Sharples Internet Marketer

How-to-guides have become a popular search term for thousands of people who want to learn ?how to? do something. Professional Internet Marketers have tapped into this market by writing their own guides on how to do something in the world of making money online. They can earn good money doing this because people are quite willing to pay for the information that they want.

New methods of marketing and new affiliate programs are appearing on the Internet all the time. Some people struggle to get started so they look for guides. Anything that will help them learn how to make money online with that new affiliate program or a step by step guide to marketing methods such as blogging, writing articles, PPC and so on. The market for information is never ending?

Unfortunately not everyone is capable of writing good informative guides so the professionals have found a way for anyone to earn money with these guides. These are called ?rebrandable guides?. With rebrandable guides, anyone can make money with a guide, even if they haven?t written it themselves.

Marketers use guides to promote affiliate programs they are a member of. The guide is written about that program or something that program offers and it features a website link, which means anyone reading that guide can click on that link and go to the Marketer?s affiliate website.

After reading the information in the guide people are more likely to join that site or purchase something from it as the guide has convinced them to do so. Now if that affiliate site was yours then you would have either recruited a new member to your team or made a commission. Rebranding makes this possible. Rebranding allows you to change the affiliate link in someone else?s guide to yours.

When a marketer tells you that their guide is rebrandable, it means that they are giving you the permission and the tools to change the affiliate links in their guide to yours. Now you can promote their guide as your own, meaning that anyone who gets the guide from you goes to your affiliate sites instead of the author of that guide.

However, you are limited to the affiliate programs that the author has chosen. You can?t add any additional programs to the guide unless you can gain access to the original document. So unless you learn to write your own guides you are limited to the programs you can rebrand.

Some guides are free to download and the author makes their money from people who click on the links in the guide. Other guides can cost anything from $7 to $97, depending on their content. With these guides you have the ability to make money from selling them yourself if the author offers you full resale rights to them.

Guides can be created as EXE or PDF files. It is much better to create them as PDF files as people prefer not to download EXE files in fear of viruses. Plus they can be read on the Mac computer. PDF files can be read by Adobe Acrobat Reader which you can get for free.

So should you charge a fee for your guide? Well that is up to you. If you are promoting affiliate programs then releasing your guide for free will get more exposure for those programs. Unless you are a well known name it is better to concentrate on releasing free guides and articles and build your profile.
