  1. Heredity. Some people are genetically predisposed to suffering hemorrhoids and there are not many things we can do about it.
  2. Constipation. Straining to pass hard stools puts a lot of pressure on the rectum and makes the veins swell (like varicose veins behind the knees).
  3. Sitting wrongly on the toilet seat.
  4. Diarrhea
  5. Wiping too hard or too long may cause or aggravate hemorrhoids.
  6. Pregnancy
  7. Being overweight
  8. Anal sex.
Discover other causes of hemorrhoids and you will be on your way to treating piles effectively.

I have to give you credit, this is a sore subject with most people. Not one many would bring up.

ppl_cheryl63, thanks for your comment. Many of us sit on our hemorrhoids, literally, and do nothing about it until it becomes a part of us. If it comes with no pains, we ignore it but it is a problem and will surface one day.

It is better to treat hemorrhoids today and also prevent new one from happening.
