HR-25 The Fair Tax Act

I just sent my congressman an e-mail letting him know I want him to become a co-sponsor of the FairTax.

Why would I do this you ask? Simple, after reading the bill and the book, then spending several months studying the effects it is my conclusion "We the People" would benefit from the simplification, the adding of illegals, drug dealers, hookers, overseas visitors, ect to the rolls of people paying taxes as they consume products and services.

Our leaders continue to add taxes to the business community, who in turn add those cost to the product they sell us. Then the leaders want us to pay more taxes to support free medical care for all citizens.

Simple, we need a larger base to lighten the load on all of us.

Let me know with a short comment your thoughts are you in favor or opposed to a simplification of our tax system.

PS:  Let me have some fun. For every 10 comments I will choose 1 and send that member $10.00 in e-currency. your comments can be pro or con.

FYI:

One of our congressmen proposed  one trillion in new taxes today.
Can you name that congressman?

Personally I think a flat tax of 10% across the board with no other issues would be great. But we all know that won't happen. I support the fair tax act but again, how long will it take for the whole thing to become complicated once again?

Cheryl:

I like the Fair Tax for it's rebate for those less able to earn large incomes. Plus it taxes drug dealers, the under ground., and big consumers.

Rep. Charles Rangel (D-NY 15th) is the answer to the FYI,
"One of our congressmen proposed one trillion in new taxes today.

I'm generally in favor of it.

However, I feel that it's not likely to happen because of the "confusion" factor.
Also, because of the perceived "dole" of receiving monthly payments from the feds.

One other thing, what about us internet marketers?

Again, I say I am generally in favor of a "fairer" tax, but this one has - to quote Mr. Dylan,
"...too much confusion..."

Now, LOL, we need a few more comments before I can get this $10! :)

The only draw back to the Fair Tax is the fact that the rebate issue gives government to complicate things. A flat tax of 10% across the board cut's out the need for a lot of the bureaucracy and means that the government would be just like us, tightening the belt during lean times. If you have the rebate thing they will soon come up with a need to keep that money for government use, need more auditors to oversee the payments etc.and soon government tampering would have us back in the same boat.

Cheryl;

I had a lot of the same concearns myself till I went to the Congressional web site and read the actual bill. That 133 pages cleared my mind and answered my questions. I learned that the Country would be the benificary of jobs returning to our own soil, taxes being levied on consumption not income. Yes, simplification would eliminate the 250 to 400 billion in expenses we Americans pay anually in compliance cost.

PS: The prebate is no problem as I am sure we all agree the only thing the Government does really well is issue checks.
