Easy Steps To Become A Police Officer

If you aspire to become a law enforcement official, you will need to be in peak physical condition. It is essential that you have sufficient muscle mass, endurance and dexterity in order to do your job efficiently. So how can you practice for the qualifying physical assessment?

Make sure you provide yourself with enough time to prepare your body for the test. You will not be able to gain muscle mass quickly. Let yourself a minimum of six to twelve weeks to train and build your endurance prior to the date your exam is scheduled. Being ready ahead of time will smooth the progress of your victory.

It’s a good idea to ask your local police unit what the physical agility test will cover. Most of them consist of running, sit-ups and push-ups, but other things may also be included. They may even require that you meet a certain body fat ratio. Knowing what will be included, you can then design your routine accordingly. You should concentrate on strengthening the things that are weakest. For various people, this means building muscle mass.

One of the most efficient ways to gain muscle mass is by employing calisthenics. As a police officer, you will need to be able to squat, twist, reach, stretch, lunge, jump & land skillfully in order to conduct your duties competently. Practicing calisthenics enables your body to do all of these moves fluidly. They improve strength, promote stamina, and promote a full range of motion, which diminishes the risk of injuries.

Calisthenics are also known as bodyweight workout as they do not employ the use of any equipment. You simply need a small space to exercise in and a few minutes. The most popular calisthenics include jumping jacks, sit-ups, crunches, push-ups, pull-ups, squats, calf raises and dips. Start working out depending on your current physical state. In order to gain muscle mass, you should strive to increase the number of reps and degree of difficulty for each exercise at regular intervals.

One more method of building muscle mass is by the use of free weights or exercise machines. If you do not own these things, you can head to a local gym or YMCA. You can hire a fitness coach, or learn how to train on your own. A complete workout should exercise the chest, back, shoulders, thighs, calves and arms.

But building muscle mass is not just achieved by exercising. It’s important to consider your eating habits also. To facilitate building muscle mass, your body needs proper nutrition. This piece of the puzzle is often overlooked, but it is imperative. Your diet should include plenty of clean protein, such as egg whites, turkey, fish, beans, and lean red meat. Some people also like to supplement whey or soy protein. You will also need to consume lots of slow burning carbohydrates, such as oatmeal and sweet potatoes. These will provide your body with the building blocks needed to grow muscle mass. And be sure to consume plentyof water!

In conclusion, if you want to ace the physical examination to become a police officer , it’s essential that you start early and exercise regularly. Sufficient exercise, combined with the proper diet will get you into prime physical condition, so you can finally enjoy your new career as a police officer!

We Need Heroes. We Need More Police

As children, we had grand dreams of saving the world and becoming superheroes. We would don capes and run around having a row with the bullies. Now that we are much older, we have realized that this world is not about capes and super powers.

There are bullies around but we do not have the super powers to bring them down. We can, however, be a police officer and help put these bullies behind bars. You can still do something to save the world from the bad guys.

This world has become so festooned with crimes that there never seems to be enough police officers to keep things in order. As soon as a criminal is caught, more seems to crop up. This is why police recruitment  is being promoted—to engage more people who are willing to stop these criminals from doing more crimes and to help uphold the law. If you are still holding on to that dream of becoming crime-buster then it is time that you make that dream into reality.

In recent reports released by the European Commission, Britain has the worst crime rate in Europe. Britain’s murder rate is 1.49 for every 100,000 people making it the 13th in rank, higher than France, Spain and Italy. In robbery, Britain ranks fifth in European Union with 164 robberies committed per 100,000 people. These figures were based on the records or crimes committed per 100,000 people and was calculated on a three year average from 2005-2007.

This data is enough to convince UK that more people should become a police officer in order to prevent more crimes from happening. Perhaps the data only shows that the police officers are outnumbered. With more dedicated people on the force, a time will come when there will no longer be criminals.

You might have heard that the application to become a police officer can be difficult. That can be true for most because majority of those who apply every year do not even make it past the application stage. If you seriously want to succeed in becoming a police officer then you do not have to worry all that much because the there are many companies out there to help people like you by providing information on how to get started.

You will certainly pass the rigors of application if you are well-informed. If you put enough effort in looking for information on how you could make it past the application form then there would be no reason for you not to pass. Like they say, “If there’s a will, there’s a way” so make a way to realize your dream to be a police officer . Be the superhero that you are. Except that instead of cape and tights, you will proudly wear a uniform like any other dignified police officer.

Instead of flying up in the sky to look for crimes in progress, you would be driving a police mobile checking every street and alleyway where criminals will possibly be hiding. Help restore peace and order, help keep your loved ones safe from harm.

Applying To Become A Police Officer

When was the last time you felt safe walking the streets at night? Even in broad daylight, today, crimes are committed. Criminals do not choose a certain place or time to commit crime. They do not choose who they will commit crime against. It can be your little brother or sister, it can be your mum, it can be your wife or husband and it can be your child who will be the next targets of criminals.

It can also be you. Crimes are escalating to such a degree that there was a need to promote police recruitment to all people who are interested in making the world a safe place once again.

People campaign against crimes but not everyone can face criminals in an arm to arm combat. Guns are such dangerous weapons that a special training is needed in order for people to use it responsibly. Not that being a police officer is all about guns but most criminals are armed and dangerous that civilians should not be encouraged to attempt a fight against them. Not everyone can become a police officer  but if you have the makings of one then you are encouraged to join the force.

A police officer’s duties will include dealing with anti-social behaviour, reducing street-related crimes including robbery, fighting against organized crime, countering terrorism, assisting victims and giving the community a general sense of security.  All these duties are challenging and if you decide to be a police officer you will have to be prepared to be on the frontline of the fight against crime. As much as the excitement of being a police officer will convince you to join the force, you should also keep in mind that the job is more about protecting people and upholding justice.

There is no minimum or maximum height requirement to become a police officer nor is formal education required. You can join the force at 18 if you decide that University life is just not for you. Any skills and background that you have gained at this point in your life will be welcomed by the police force. You can also join the force if you feel like you need to take another career path at 40. As long as you are dedicated to serve and protect, you will be welcomed by the force and the police recruitment  staff.

You will, of course, need to apply to become a police officer. After filling up the application form and you are deemed eligible to join the force, you will be called for an assessment where they will undergo physical and mental tests. This assessment will last for, approximately, four to five hours and is standardized across 43 forces in England and Wales. This means that regardless of what particular force you are applying to you will take the same tests.

After completing and passing the assessment you will then be asked to accomplish a questionnaire regarding your medical history. After a medical officer evaluates your medical history and is satisfied, you will be asked to take a full medical including alcohol and drug tests, which are mandatory. If you have not completed a fitness test in the assessment centre you will complete one at this stage.

After all of the tests are accomplished, your force will send you a “candidate feedback” detailing how you did in the test. If you passed everything then you should be welcomed into the force and be a police officer. If you failed then check the web for tips on how to pass the tests and where you should start from.
