One of the richest men worldwide, Mr. Carlos Slim, believes that a solution for a better life for people would reduce the working week to three days.

Thus, believes Slim, countries will face no problems caused by early retirement, which destabilises the economy and quality of life.

Four days a week will boost many economic activities.

Among other things, he believes that tourism, the entertainment industry, sport, culture and education will increase.

"Shorter working weeks" - a solution to transform civilization.

Historically, as the technology advances more, the more progress will happen, the less people must work.

Now it happens that people live longer, have a better health status without the need for exercise.

This civilization requires more knowledge, more experience, less physical exercises. Productivity has grown exponentially, even though some economists deny this fact.

And we see that this is a problem vaused by unemployment in many countries, especially in Europe.

It is important that people do not retire at 50, 60 or 65 years.

I think they should retire later, as they have more knowledge and more experience... said Carlos.

And I think we have to work three days a week, to create space for others, "said honorary president of the company America Movil, the Mexican tycoon Carlos Slim, quoted by Bloomberg.

Europe tested workdays of six hours. More companies in Sweden have decided to do this experiment and the conclusion is that this method has increased successfully productivity - leading to happier employees.

One of the most important protests for this kind of program change was in 1872, when about 100 000 workers in New York, mostly in the construction industry,

demanded the reduction of working time to 8 hours without reducing wages.

George Edmonston, founder of the carpentry Union initiated the introduction of a resolution which stipulated that: "8:00 hours should constitute a legal working day from and after May 1-st 1886".

In time, this resolution has set an example almost worldwide.
