This old fart has been involved with electronic advertising since 1988 (remember those bulletin board services? yea, way back! when 40Mb hard drives were "the thing"!)
With a computer programming background during my USAF stint, I put my first website on the internet in 1991. Even won a multi-media award for it! I've witnessed firsthand the multitude of changes in internet marketing, but only one seems to be consistent and most likely will only expand over the next 20+ years.
