What started out as one makeover for Dave Fullmer has become -
Makeover Madness.

The purpose is to show how just a little bit of editing can make a big difference.

**Just understand I don’t have the time to line up and build whole new websites for free here. I am just doing quick facials to illustrate a point. So no everything is not lined up : )

In many cases the links and forms on the web pages aren’t functional.**

Hi Muriel,

I have been in a mode of studying web pages, especially splash pages recently for what catches my attention. I am not sure how to do it, but if there were some way to startle or shock people into reading about glutathione you might get more traffic.

I assume you are advertising to a targeted audience?

I also assume that this is not a page you are putting on a traffic exchange?

I have found that a short curiosity ad works best. Put short interest building questions on it. Something like:

What in the world is glutathione?

Do you know what glutathione does for your health?

Do you know that the lack of glutathione cause xxx number of diseases?

Do you know why all the doctors are abuzz about glutathione?

These are some of my ideas. Remember though that I am an extreme novice when it comes to writing though

Dave

Hi Valerie,

You're Good! I'll have to put you on the payroll as my editor.

Thank you so much for your input. I know how much work this is to modify a webpage and I want you to know I appreciate it/

I like how you cleaned up my page.

I also saw why you took the bolding out of my text. It allowed some special bolding to make certain thoughts stand out.

Also, by reducing the type size, the page now fits better so people don't have to scroll to find the call for action (First Step link).

A question about the removal of the centering of the first sentence. I think I like it better without the centering. But the question is this: "Is there a rule to follow that address the centering?

If I were to modify this page for a true squeeze page with a lead form to my autoresponder, would it be best to do away with the header and footer so the whole page would be seen without scrolling?

Also, in the future, so that you don't have the time involved doing all the work, would it be OK to create a comparison page for critique from either/both you and your readers? I think I would like to make a comparison of a squeeze page like the above question.

Again, thanks for taking the time to help us out with this example and also thanks for picking mine.

Dave

Good job, Valerie,

I would sure appreciate your input as to why I am not getting much interest from my website. I tried to include information that I thought was of interest but maybe I have too much there.

Just shows that alignment adjustments and changing from bold to normal type faces can make a difference. The use of bold does what it's suppose to do. Highlight important items. Good job.

Henry’s Makeover

http://www.oyesucan.com/makeover/henry.htm

I didn’t go far with the alignment I would have had to rebuild your whole page for that. But the main thing is just you need to bring down your header.

Also I feel you use too many different fonts and large type. Check to see if your monitor is set for small font. Maybe you aren’t seeing how really large your type is.
