Purple Cows |
![]() If you pass a purple cow on the way to work every day how long does it take for the novelty to wear off? When you see something over and over again you start to tune it out. This is what happens when you see the same ad copy over and over again. You would be amazed at how fast online something incredible becomes old news. Now I must admit that purple cow can become endearing. If the farmer decided to kill it for beef tomorrow you might raise the money to save the neighborhood mascot. But in order to save the purple cow you are going to have to raise awareness in a whole new light. So to my point - You have to be very careful using the same advertising copy/writing over and over again. I find it funny those few people that are posting all over Apsense with the same post. I like many am quick to tune it out and now it would take a lot to get me to read more from that person. It is much the same with my OyesUcan ezine. If I email the same solo ad too many times I see people unsubscribe by the handfuls. But… On the other hand many of you got the same letter from me asking you to join this group. That one email works so why change it. How do you save time on writing while at the same time not loosing your effectiveness? ___________________________________________ Pete’s vote is for green Lemmings I am just not so sure it is as cute at the purple cow?? ![]() Valerie Hasara editor OyesUcan ezine Post your free Ad |

| That's not a purple cow. It's a green cow that was Painted purple. Shoot, it might not even be a cow. It could be a pig in disguise. :) |

| When I was in politics and running an election campaign we learned that a sign was noticed for the first few days and then became part of the landscape. You could either move the sign to a new location or add something -like a balloon to reattract attention. It worked. The same ad over and over loses interest quickly. A few changes can make it almost new again |

| Hey,
this purple cow is getting real fat, I hope we don't slaughter it for meat as yet. We seem to be talking about a herd of purple cows here. Article Posts in Ezines, Article sites, Forums and Blogs need "fresh content' for the same subject - at least 20-30% - to get any traction from search engines.. Newletters say "News!" not yesterday's story. An Ad Body that sells in email or on web pages can take all the repetition except for changes in the headlines and tweaking to create fresh attention. If it's not broken, then don't fix it. AD slogans create a life of their own - they live or die on the battle field. But lets face it, this is a discussion group for future publishers - so start writing, and re-writing, and re-writing, proofreading and spellchecking - if you intend to become an expert in the field any time soon. Nothing else will surfice. (ignore last paragrahp - just a note to myself) The GoodNews team For More Topics On Marketing & Web Tools, goodnewsforall.com/houseofmaxforum |

| Thanks Chuck the link is fixed. You say in direct Mail the same Theme for several mailing but you didn’t say the same letter right?
I understand exposure, and the need to advertise. And in Direct Mail you may have one company with one list and a calculated mailing. There maybe a few more people in the mix but nothing like online. Now apply that same idea to Apsense. If just 500 of its members go over to one traffic exchange and post their Apsense promotional material (found in the back office). Now you have one list seeing the same advertising x 500. Don’t get me wrong there are thousands of new people online to see you ads everyday, but if you are serious about your online business - it is easy to increase you odds by being different. | Valerie,
Your link for ypur wonderful E-zine has double http:// so it doesn't work. Your Topic post is so perfect... Were all in the advertising business and the principle should be followed. However, we do find in Direct Mail the same Theme for several mailings is effective. Chuck Chuck Bartok BLOG 530-798-0245 |

| I have to admit...when I first started I was copy and paste happy...but I learned how great it did*NOTHING*. So many in here are probably very new to this, and have to learn like the rest of us. It only took me a little while to realize it was not working for me, but for many it takes a long time! Some do this part time, only just a few hours a week..and believe the get rich over night..post this ad everywhere type thing. Although many of us have GOT IT...there are so many out there that have not. Patience is another key to success. Not just for ourselves, but for everyone. :0) This group is a great way to teach others. Thank you Pete! Jenn 478-338-2469 Simplifying Lives and Securing Lifestyles HERE |

| Patrick Just Curios what are you reading into this ? My Point is this. When People use the same exact ads it is not effective at all the search engines stop listing articles blogs and forum links If they are the exact same content . the search engines look for fresh content and content is king on the Internet. Being original does have major benifits yes it takes more time but it is effective. So set yourself apart from the rest be original and I bet you will get more sales and sign ups Pete Balasch Jr. Socal bookmarking site pr3 |
