Religiously Speaking |

Religiously Speaking... I have often pondered if there is a true benefit to wearing religion on your sleeve when writing online for the purpose of marketing. I can’t think of any fortune 500 companies that use God in their advertising unless of course you look into their charitable contributions. Hollywood uses their fair share of religion or lack of it for publicity. Are you somehow more apt to buy from someone who thanks God or do you sense there is some ulterior motive behind their devotion? Can a person give thanks in there signature line without people thinking they have gone too far? Valerie Hasara editor OyesUcan ezine Post your free Ad |

| Yes, there are good qualities in every person that has lived on the face of this earth, God knows there heart and it is his judgement at the gate and given that final opportunity of Salvation, for there is only one Heaven and one Hell. There is a much difference between Religion and Relationship with Jesus Christ, I have seen many judges on this earth, forgiven yes, because Realtionship with Jesus is real! Religion can vary to make people comfortable, the Gift of Eternal Life thru Jesus is just that, Eternal and there is only one way to the Father thru the Son, Jesus Christ.
Much of the Secret is what Man will conceive to Believe, because if you search the hidden things of God, it says that if you seek him first, everything else will be added unto you, it also says, his covenant with us is to Bless us and that wealth and riches shall be in our homes, this is to establish greater works. That we should have the mind of Christ, mountain moving Faith can move mountains, I am truely Blessed to say that I am forgiven, set Free and have a awesome Realtionship with Jesus that no man can steal. |

| Personal belief is just that, isn't it? "Personal" A little while back, I participated regularly at a business community site, similar to Apsense. Gradually, many forums with people sharing religious verses and prayers for its members etc., began to appear. I participated less and less at this community due to that. Apsense and similar online communities are established with an intention to support business owners wanting to share ideas, resources and information. If I wanted to participate in religious conversations then I know for certain that I could find plenty of religious communities, using one single Google search. I prefer online marketing and business communities devoid of religious content unless it has "direct" relevance to the products being sold or the business topics being discussed. Such as this posting. Personally, I would prefer to not belong to business content sites which are inundated with religious subjects or postings. Celebrate our wonderful, global diversity, and I'd suggest to any 'fanatics' (religious or other) please lose the driven need to have everyone seeing the world identical to the way that you do. If you think that wearing your religion on your sleeve, supports your marketing strategies then go ahead, Yet be prepared to lose as many prospective clients as you might gain. It would be not much different than using your sexual or political preferences to attract particular client sector. You might lose as many opportunities as you seek to gain. Without good market testing, I guess you’ll never know. :) OK, I'll hop off my soap box now. Couldn't resist responding here...guess I got plugged in by the topic! :) "Education is the ability to listen to almost anything without losing your temper or your self-confidence." ~Robert Frost~ Namaste, Thea www.forwardsteps.com.au _____________________ Take Forward Steps Daily |

| "Give God Praise In Everything You Do"
Personally, I pray constantly for wisdom to stay away from scams and there are many where people do mention faith, religion, being a christrian, etc. This is something that really bothers me. Not everything is as it appears to be of course. With this in mind, I second that what Jenn said. Business is business, conduct yourself in a manner that your honesty and morals will show. Your online to build friendship, help for the fellow marketer and financial security for not only yourself but others also. Your beliefs are something that if you do it in secret you will be rewarded openly. With this said I don't believe it necessary to promote religion to gain anything. If it's good, others will see it. | I am absolutely more likely to buy a product or join someone in an affiliate program if they praise God. I tell others I'm a Christian.

| Well Valerie, I have felt that if I mention my faith on my busness literature, that It could cause some loss of business, but if that happens, so what. I have faith that my business will be blessed in the long run anyway. I have a Family Mission Statement on my website and that is the only place I try to share my faith except in personal contact when the subject comes up. I try to do business with fellow Christians when I can, but like others have said, there are too many out there that try to give the idea that talking the talk will make their customers trust them more and unfortunately there are shysters that like to use that to their advantage. | You make an interesting point Kathleen. I can talk the talk, use all the right phrases and people see me as a fine upstanding Christian fellow. Heck I used to do it for a living!!! (I was once a minister)
But am I a Christian now, despite my ability to say all the right things? The point I am making is not about my own faith but the ability of those who present the illusion for personal gain. And the situation is only complicated by the fact that there is such a broad range of opinion on what constitutes a Christian that you can have two very committed people who are at opposite ends of the spectrum at loggerheads. Each is just as committed to their beliefs and each, in their own way seeks to live by those beliefs. But to look at them they seem like chalk and cheese. |

| Valerie,
Being a born again Christian, I'm always aware of this issue. Although I don't "wear it on my sleeve", I do take note of others who do. Given the choice, I'd rather work with my own kind. However, not everyone claiming to be a Christian is one. I can tell within seconds of a conversation with a person whether they are or are not a Christian. This is not to say that they don't love their God or that they are not "good" people. It simply means that they don't belong to the same family that I belong to. Nothing puts me off more than someone claiming to be what they are not. If a person is putting their faith out in front of them to entice you to their business...I think I smell a rat. | Wow! This topic's really got us going; so I have to add my two cents worth: Good qualities in human behaviour are common to all religions. Personally, I'm happy to leave it at that, not wear my personal beliefs on the sleeve or try to impress others with how righteous I can be. ~Paula/BoomSpress Make everyday a holiday... Paula |
