Know what's fun, fast and easy to create with crochet? An afghan--the perfect gift! There's MANY patterns available and you can find loads of free patterns for crochet afghans online. Here is one of my favorite sites for free crochet patterns:

An afghan makes the pefect gift for anyone of any age--a new baby or an elderly person both would love the gift of an afghan. Or how about those newlyweds, a college-bound student, a soldier who is away from home.........this list could go on and on.
Making an afghan can be an excellent way to use up all that yarn you've collected. amd depending on the pattern you choose, it may be a great project to use up those small amounts of yarn from past projects.

I made an afghan for each of my 5 children when they graduated high school! And all 7 grand babies received one when they were born. The do make wonderful gifts!
