Brand Building - Facebook or Twitter

I believe that since Facebook now has over 500 million users, it would be the best platform for entrepreneurs and SMBs to market their products and services.

On the other hand, without professional guidance, I think FB could pose a challenge for many business owners in terms of all the tools available within the network, as well as 'navigating' through it and creating proper and effective business pages, etc.

Twitter on the other hand is so quick and simple, and still very much a relevant tool to use for marketing purposes.

What are your thoughts on this please?

Many thanks.

Facebook and twitter are both a great way to promote your product. If you have not read my posting in my other group called "How To Funnel Prospects To Your Business!" in my other group called
"How Can You Earn an Income On the Internet?" It's a great guide to funneling traffic.

Every time you post something on twitter, FB or any other site, you may or may not get a hit it all depends on key words, key phrases you attach with your blog, article, why never post anything without having them tags a long makes them more visible for people who do search on search engines. But hey l send all my stuff to as many social sites as l can....all good in the end...

Thank you both for your comments, appreciate the feedback. With my own sites and doing the SEO for iPlus Marketing I go 'everywhere' and I mean free advertising sites, buzz, all of my social networks, and use a couple of tools for SEO that make it a snap to get listed on a multitude of sites at once, although I prefer to go through it all myself to ensure the links are actually posted. Time is our enemy in some respects and a very valuable commodity indeed.

Cheers!

If your not a member of Tweeterfeed.com you should be if you're using Facebook and Twitter. The reason is because you can link your blog or information here on Apsense to twitter and connect twitter to Facebook. This is what I was talking about when creating a funnel. When you post on your blog it updates automatically on Twitter and Facebook letting friends and family know you just posted on your blog. It is simple and free to set up. Just add an rss feed from your blog.

Lonnie, thanks very much for your comments. Yes, of course I use Twitterfeed! We can use all the feeds we can get (such as Atom)and maximize them through the use of various networks such as LI, FB, Twtr, Apsense, Ecad, etc.etc. I also make sure to 'ping' my posts and/or any site changes as well, in addition to using Google Analytics & HubSpot - both great tools!

IMHO, the facebook fanpage is going to out flank email in terms of marketing in the very near future. Setting up a fanpage has become an art form. Getting "Likes" is akin to getting subscribers. Having fans on your facebook fanpage is unlimited, while mass contact is limited to 100 at a time, posting events or writing on your fanpage wall is not limited. A little more information can be found in this blog post "Do You Have A Facebook Fanpage" http:// comluv.com/tutorials/do-you-have-a-facebook-fanpage/

In my way of thinking, while I do Tweet, Facebook is the better investment of my time. Tweets are cool, short news blast but I just don't hang out on my Twitter page. Facebook on the other hand is more interactive, its like a bigger APSense. On the other hand, if I have something short to announce I use APSense "Live Stream" which I have connected to one of my Twitter accounts and this way my message is posted on the APSense Feed as well as to my Twitter followers.
