If you are serious about your business you more than likely put together a game plan at the beginning of the year.  So as of today with 6 months gone, where to you stand.  Are you on track to accomplish what you planned to accomplish this year or do you need to make some adjustments?

If you don't have a clear idea of where you want to go and how to get there you won't make it.  It's sort of like taking a road trip.  Forget about GPS for a minute, that's the lazy way to get from point A to point B.  Lets talk about the old fashioned way of doing it.  First you decide where you want to go and then you grab your atlas and plan your route.  Now you may have a plan but that does not mean your trip will go perfectly.  You may run into closed roads and detours so you have to adjust.  You break out the atlas an look for an updated route.

It's the same thing with your yearly business "map".  External things you cannot control can affect your business and you will need to make adjustments.  Economic factors, even other businesses can affect yours.  So take the time now to evaluate and adjust your plan for the last half of the year.  You will have a much better chance of reaching your business goals by having a current plan of action to use as a guide.

As my New Year begins in November, I am a bit ahead of the halfway mark.... My PLAN is always with me, and as I grow and change, so does my PLAN. The fact that there have been some financial/physical changes in the World, such as the falling real estate market, and the bad weather and floodings that have occured in the very same areas that I wanted to build stuff on, really hasn't disturbed me, or my PLAN. I certainly see things a lot more clearly as my own businesses adjust and make changes, that will augment my PLAN, as time goes on. Things will never settle down. There are many, many unsettling forces and features in and on this Planet, that will often shift and change, and move you and your Life to places where you never intended to go, but that can be a Good Thing! :) My PLAN, is a part of me, in fact, it's a HUGE part of me, and there are very few moments, when the PLAN is is not in my direct thoughts and calculations. For most people, it seems a bit weird that I see my Life PLAN, as a Living Entity, but it works for me... It's not sterile or "set in stone". It's Rhythmic, Passionate and Timely... Sort of like a GPS, with a music mode! :) Oddly, when I sit down to write Mission Statements for other folks, they always seem to think that they are "Awesome.." and I have heard stuff like, "I never would have thought of that..." Sometimes, these comments confuse me a bit because, I just simply re-compose a these writings from my ever- present thoughts about my own PLAN, and I sometimes think that most business-folk think in this manner about their own efforts and adventures... Yes, Cheryl, I believe the PLAN is the most important element of your own business and Life itself... After all, how many times do you hear folks complain about stuff that happens to them, by saying " I didn't PLAN on that happening... " Some folks will just never 'Get It.."

True, some folks will never get it. I think this is where a lot of people develop their dislike of setting goals. You set them but you have to be flexible enough to wiggle when you need to.

Well Cheryl you know this is truly a topic that is close to my heart, and obviously Jeff's to after reading his brilliant remarks! As for where I stand with my plan, my online ventures are slightly behind but my offline ones are well ahead...and looking at the extra workload and UNPLANNED things that have come up in my offline biz and in my personal life, it's not too hard to see why my online ventures have fallen slightly by the wayside. As far as the LIFE PLAN goes, the focus only gets sharper and I am just so greatful to have so many years ahead of me yet...unless another MAJOR UNPLANNED EVENT was to occur...LOL!

Thanks for stopping by Garnet. I've been looking over my plan for the year and like you there are some areas where I am ahead of schedule and some areas where I am lagging. But the good part is I can modify what I'm doing now to reach my goals for the future. Honestly I try to review once a quarter, and plan out in 90 day blocks what I want to accomplish. constantly keeping in mind the long range yearly goal.

Having a Plan of Action or POA as I call it is a must. As far as APsense goes, I am here daily to learn and EARNING is not a main concern. However I managed to grow my network here in the last week. I did ONE mailing with my invite link and WALLA! my network grew. But THAT is NOT my story. Last year I joined My Power Mall. I studied ALL the intro emails BIG TIME and one of the things I did was to 'set a goal' to meet in a year. That goal was to have at least 10 members in my 1st level(personally sponsored by me) AND to get to the 9 level DEEP mark. I met the 9 level mark in Jan, just last week I got my 10th and 11th 1st level members. Since my 'year' starts in late May I fell a little short of my goal but I do feel I succeeded. I have a growing group of ACTIVE shoppers and received my 1st check in the begining of June. So my goal for the next 6 months is to have my 1st level at MPM up from 11 where it is now to at least 15. I am NOT a great reccruiter but I advertise constantly and consistantly. 20 would be ideal but 5 is more realistic. I believe one must set 'realistic' goals. Somethig that REQUIRES effort but also something that is NOT impossible to reach. I have always had HIGH expectations for myseldf and I think I sometimes set goals TOO HIGH. I would fail, then quit. So I adjusted what I am capable of and lowered things a bit. THAT seems to be working for me. Have a great day and I hope you all reach your goals or at least get close to them.

"I believe one must set 'realistic' goals. Somethig that REQUIRES effort but also something that is NOT impossible to reach." Excellent Point Karl. Another reason I think you have the goal hating set. Unrealistic goals

Hi Cheryl. THANKS for emphasizing my point. I made the point because I MADE the MISTAKE. I hope others can LEARN from MY mistake and grow in whatever venture it is they are doing. If ONE person GAINS from my mistake then I will feel good.

What an awesome "mid year checkpoint." What I love about goals is you can always start over. This blog can be encouraging or discouraging. If you aren't halfway to your goal by now, adjust your goals and get going! For me, my goal is to not have to work to send my child to daycare. The little one is due in January and I am due back to work in May of 2009. My husband and I can probably juggle our schedules for a little while. I figure I need to be pretty close to ready to quit my job by May 2010. That means replacing my corporate income, PLUS my insurance benefits. The first step is BELIEVING. And I DO!

Karl, that point deserved to be emphasized. I too at one point fell into the unreasonable goals trap. That is why I know try to plan out what I need to do for the year and reevaluate regularly. ChicoSpaGal, THe thing is that we all need to look at where we are periodically in our plan. It's much easier to make small adjustments on a regular basis than try to redo an entire plan at the last minute.

In my early teaching years, I was taught that If you fail to plan, then plan to fail. This is mandatory in my profession, so I know how important it is for my business. I like to take things a step further and write it down, visualize it. and because of this, my photography business is growing. I will always be a student!

I always plan my goals out and break it down to what I need to do in 6 3 and one month increments, then I break it down to weeks and days.

THANKS Cheryl. Another thing I should mention here is when I first got involved in network marketing(and this includes even before I had a computer). My FIRST mistake was taking on TOO MANY things at one time. I joined EVERY 'plan' or should I say SCAM that was thrown my direction. I quickly found myself going round round in circles and going NOWHERE in aANY of them. I FINALLY sorted out the trash from the legitimate ones, then I even sorted out the 'good' ones and decided to focus on just a FEW of the good ones. Once I did that, I was and AM able to focus on my MAIN sites. I mean I had approx 25 traffic exchanges I was trying to do daily, I have 3 and that is for advertising purposes. I am getting the RESULTS I want from each one because I can put in the TIME required for each one therefore I get MORE traffic to the SITES I WANT SEEN. It's al ABOUT numbers. When done correctly the desired results will follow. Have a great day everyone.

You can definitely get overwhelmed. I'm in three businesses but I spend all of my time only on one. It's impossible for me to do all three and give them all the time they need to proper. I work my identity theft and legal services business and the other two get a little something if I have time left over.

Hello Everyone :) Halfway of the year and things are going Great. I don't have much details to give but one thing counts for everyone. Work hard and you will get rewarded. Do NOT GIVE UP. Never Quit, if you are into an MLM company and you choose to quit to join a different one, then you will be only starting from 0. Kind Regards P.S. Enjoy life

Hard work and "sticktoitiveness" Are a very important part of success but sometimes an evaluation to help you work smarter is needed. Welcome to the group Strosdegoz

BigRose  Advanced  Jul 12th 13:07
Hi Cheryl, you are absolutely correct. I have my MAIN focus on ONE site with the others getting time as 'needed'. Since starting this method I am doing fine in all of them. Obviously the stats are lower in the other 2 but that is to be expected. I am getting my best stats right where I want them. Hi strosdegoz you are correct about what you say when it comes to MLM. I wish I had a buck for every time I started from 0. Heck I probably would not be HERE if that were the case...LOL I'd be sipping some cool drink on a beach somewhere. Karl
