Ignorance vs Stupidity |

First before we even start, let me correctly define ignorance. Ignorance has nothing to do with being stupid or dumb, and everything to do with lacking knowledge. We are all ignorant in some way but that does not mean we are stupid. It simply means we lack knowledge. Ignorance is easily corrected by simply gaining knowledge. I'm quite ignorant when it comes to rocket science, but that has nothing to do with me being stupid but the fact that I am not a rocket scientist. But I can easily correct this by becoming a rocket scientist at which time I would no longer be ignorant. However ignorance can lead to stupidity. If you have vital information at your fingertips that will cure your ignorance and refuse to take advantage of that information, that is stupidity. In many cases the old saying ignorance is bliss is true. In my case with rocket science ignorance is truly bliss. But if I have access to information which could save my life and I choose to ignore it I have become stupid. Every day we are given information that can make a difference in our lives. It is our choice to decide if that information is relevant to us. If it is not we can remain blissfully ignorant without any danger. However if it is important to us or our families we must make the decision to be informed or to be stupid. The purpose of this group is not to make anyone feel stupid but to help each other cure our ignorance. get protected before it happens to you |
