Uneven gifts for kids

I am supposed to work this morning...I hope the shift holds out...it should, it is at a nursing home.  I've been cancelled all weekend.  Not fun this time of year.  I will have to go with another back up agency.  Not that there is anything wrong with this one...My goodness...however, I can't afford too many cancellations, and I was sick last weekend.  Still recuperating.  Anyway, I digress.  Getting to my original subject line.  You would think that because Abby is my special child, she would have more gifts.  Not so.  It seems to me, more and more toys are geared towards the younger kids...so then what do you do.  I will be running around later wondering just that as well as cleaning my house.  I must say, I am making progress even though it doesn't look that way!  Abby is great, I will be getting her some winter dresses since she is my child that MUST wear a dress to school...*LOL*

So funny how different my two are!  Happy Holidays.

Totally true... We find ourselves buying "noise making toys for 2 and 3 year olds for beth (who is 8)... she loves the noise but there is nothing appropriate for her age without going to "special needs" websites.

I end up buying her clothes and practical things - boring for a kid but the choice is limited otherwise.

Yep, and even the special needs sites are even getting more towards the younger kdis...which is good and bad. I know the earlier you start, but let's not give up on them once they are older!

Happy Holidays!
