I know some people will be asking, "Who is Bjantiques?"
along with another very important question. Namely
"Why should I take any notice of what he says?"
Let me answer question 2 first.
Well no one says you should take any notice of what I say.
It will be up to you to read what I say and then it is your free choice to decide what you do with what you have read.
Ignore it, disagree with it, file it under "R" for rubbish, use it, agree with it, apply it, integrate it into what you do, there are so many options.
What is important is YOU have the free will to do what you want. This applies to everything you see, hear, and read no matter where you find it. It is your fundamental right of FREE WILL and you should never give up that right.
You will find, unlike many, I will not say "YOU MUST" do this, "YOU MUST NOT" do that. What I will do is give my point of view and if I think it is good or bad then you can take it or leave it, with no coercion or pressure from me.
You will find that I am to the point and do not sugar coat things. We are not little children we are supposed to be adults and as adults we need to face reality if we want to get ahead, especially on the Internet.
One of my long-standing friends (yes I do have some lol) used a very good descriptive word that has stayed in my mind ever since I first heard him use it.
That word is "Sheeple". We were talking about how some people despite all the undisputable evidence were still blindly following and doing what the owner of a certain program was saying. Yes this owner fooled me as well for quite a long time. I am not ashamed to admit it, and it continued until I finally realized things were not adding up and I took several steps back and started my own analysis of events, and finally saw the truth.
The point I am making is I had been one of the "Sheeple", following blindly and not thinking for myself. Where this owner was concerned I had given up my FREE WILL and was blindly doing his bidding. Please do not let this happen to you.
It is not a good idea to take things at face value. Blindly following some ones every word. It is better to look at it from all angles. Think carefully and not jump in blindly to something just because someone has the "Gift of the Gab" as the Irish say.
So lets get back to question 1 Who is bjantiques?
My name is Bill Brown and I am 59 years young.
I am English but live in Belgium where I have been for the last 26 years.
Born in Cumbria in the north west of England I joined the British Army Royal Engineers at 16 and seved in the UK, Germany and Gibraltar. I specialized in communications and reached the dizzy height of Signals instructor RE.
When I left the Army I found I didn't like the 9 to 5 style of life and ended up working as a navigation consultant doing the specialized navigation for Oil exploration survey ships, and the positioning of Drilling ships and platforms. I also did the navigation for Fuji Japan when they laid a telephone cable on the seabed from Bangkok to Singapore, and the navigation for the dredger Bima, it was at that time (and may still be) the biggest dredger in the world, dredging the seabed for gold just offshore at Nome in Alaska. and the coring ship that was mapping the gold deposits there under the sea bed.
After spending 13 years as an independent consultant working in 36 different countries due to the Global Positioning system being made available to the general public I stopped doing the work in 1987. I started concentrating on computer work and in 1991 I completed a 3 year evening classes course and attained my Graduate Informatica - programming and system analysis diploma.
Armed with this diploma and having passed an IBM aptitude/IQ test with a very high score even though I carried out the test in Flemish (which at that time I was still not very good at) not in my mother tong of English as I should have, I started working for an IBM Recognized Agent. I soon found that my strong point was not in programming but in doing hardware and software support and so transferred to the support department and learned quickly how to install maintain and repair IBM AS/400 systems for our clients.
I later moved to ICL (now Fujitsu/Siemens) as their IBM system support engineer and also learned how to look after Microsoft NT based systems. From there I moved to BIT, which is part of TUI Travel and worked there as support engineer again for their NT based network.
Although I enjoyed my work and the traveling all over Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg that I did going to client locations I was forced by my doctors in 2000 to stop due to ill health.
I have been on the Internet now for several years, and together with my partner we run the
