Why use auto-surf Traffic Exchanges when you know nobody will see your splash pages?

Asked by Philippe Moisan, in Marketing
If you choose Auto-Surf Traffic Exchanges, it's because you don't want to see the pages from other members, right? Why then do you believe others will do differently from you?

Traffic doesn't mean anything if no one is actually viewing your links.

Exactly, Robert, it's not targeted traffic, I think we could even call them phantom hits

I would never use a autosurf exchange. It is so useless. Even a manual traffic exchange is very time expensive and when you do it like the most others your site must have many, many credits to get your site seen. (They surf 3, 5 or even more exchanges at the same time and just click und tab to the next autosurf. Some of them use also autotab so the jump to the next traffic exchange appears automatically)

Auto surf exchanges attract brand new affiliate marketers. If anyone is watching the pages, usually very little once the figure out they can go do something else while it runs, they stop watching. Your results will be dismal.

I also do not see any benefit from autoexchanges

I agree. Not even owning one which used to be a good way to build a list "back in the day" lol.

ONLY advantage is to the one who post his advertising on auto-exchanges : he/she get's more clicks on his website, which can be nice for the stats, but worthless if someone interested in the site starts digging a little deeper. Hits or clicks in itself are in fact really meaningless. The big question is to know where they come from and if they (can) result in (future) sales or sign-ups.

Paul, Alexa considers not only the hits but the length of time the visitors stay, so it's definitely useless, imo

Stats are useless without conversion. Sales have to take place in order to make money. I agree with Philippe, totally useless.

Then what good are Traffic Exchanges and Safelists?

@Ron the main difference between autosurf and traffic exchanges and safelists, text ad exchanges as well is the fact the autosurf does it for you. So if you don't have to look at the ads and offers using autosurf, what would you? That's the deal no one does. On a manual traffic exchange, safelist and text ad exchanges is the one thing autosurf doesn't offer the advertiser. Eyes on page.

Ron, we're talking about auto-surf TEs here.

Manual TEs are better, because the person has to look at the page, at least a bit, to click on the right image to continue surfing. Also, many TEs add bonus credits here and there so you'd better pay attention.

For safelists, there's a timer, and some safelists have ways of making sure you are paying attention by having capcha.

Manual Traffic Exchanges are good if you are promoting sites that generate Traffic as the page viewers are looking for Traffic to their website.

If you look at it as a niche, people using traffic exchanges are interested in more traffic exchanges and things related to traffic exchanges. Same with safelists, list builders, text ad exchanges etc.. give them what they want or you may be wasting your time and credits.

Traffic Exchanges sites will only give your website pageviews, not directly unique visitors..

Totally useless from a marketing point of view. Minimal advantage if you want to boost the Alexa ranking for your site

I find traffic exchanges to be somewhat useful however networking and getting to know people I find to be the best way to improve your growth in business
