What was the HTTPS/SSL Update?

Asked by Juhi Joshi, in Internet & eBusiness
HTTPS implies Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure. SSL implies Secure Sockets Layer. The S in HTTPS represents secure and that is basically what the update did. By making sites move to HTTPS you are scrambling the information sent between your program and the site, offering searchers a more secure encounter.

HTTP is the protocol used by your browser and web servers to communicate and exchange information. SSL/TLS. When that exchange of data is encrypted with SSL/TLS, then we call it HTTPS. The 'S' stands for Secure.

In the earlier years of the web, the HTTPS link was actually not used at all in marketing sites on the web. As a matter of fact, the search engines at that time was literally go past the HTTPS link as it was used for secure purchases to be made from qsualified sites. As usual, the changing trends of Google marketing has now led us to use the HTTPS secure version of a domain in order to be seen on the web. This enhancement is another way to secure a site on the web for others to view, read and respond favorably to. Could it also be a way to make more money for the domain and hosting companies? Perhaps a question for another day? The Bonsai Marketing Group
