well you could join some traffic exchanges and get others to join for free If they upgrade or buy advertising from you you'll get a commission

the other way is to join an affiliate program like shareasale or affiliate future and choose products to advertise. each company you subscribe to will give you a commission for sales or leads.

or you could use free advertising tools like te toolbox or widget quik which uses the same concept as the traffic exchanges

Yea the only real legitimate way I can think is writing a blog or freelancing. The only thing about it is that you will need to be patient and build as oppose to instant action when you invest money into your online ventures or anything else you are investing in. That is, of course, your not investing in stocks and options or anything like that.
