What Warren says is ok, also, you can write comments in articles and RevPages, but you don't know if the person will respond, so a contact request is the best way to start a conversation.

Update your profile and request oppinion about your posting. Do not spam users from
daily updates. First ask them contact and than ask permission to make an exchage of ideeas.

APSense has a few services that you can signup for free and be very active on APSense
and you can click on a member profile picture and send a message to them to contact and follow to accept you as a friend to connect with you.
