I believe this to be true, if you have a good product, the best way to sell it is to let people try it. Because desirable products can sell themselves.

For the best example of products that sell themselves, look no further than Apple and Steve Jobs, emphasis on quality. The original iPhone came about because of a complete dissatisfaction with existing mobile phones. By developing a product that was intuitive, expertly crafted and solidly designed, they were able to capture the market in a way no other company had been able to before. People loved their phones and they wanted to tell everyone they knew about them. They wanted to let people know how this product had changed their lives. Good model to follow. Cheers.

FALSE. No product, howsoever good, can sell by itself. You need to pitch it with an effective promotional campaign. Which is why copywriters and marketing consultants are such highly paid professionals.

Of course, your product(s) must be good to begin with or else it can backfire on you if you try to sell turds by wrapping them in gold foil.

Good product sells itself but thats after it must have been promoted and tried by many. When a product comes out, it needs promotion, awareness for people to buy it and discover its good. It just cannot start selling so fast without some kind of initial promotion of any kind.
