Hey there-thanks for checking out my site-! If you dont know me- well let me sum it up short...: My name is Laila I'm a singer and a songwriter- from Oslo, Norway- I've made music as long as I can remember-always loved to sing- played in many different bands. In -98 I joined an all girl band called The Tuesdays , we were signed to Arista records in NY 1998 by Clive Davis- Released an album-and a single ( " It's up to you" ) in the US and Europe that peaked at 54th on the Billboard hot 100 chart. The album did well and it was a true adventure! In 2000 after being on the road for a while -I left the band cause I wanted to consentrate more on writing songs. Signed a publishing deal the same year with EMI -I was there untill last year -when I signed a new publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music- I just love to write for other artists- and have the opportunity to mix up the styles- I've written pop, rock, R&B, soul and country- I don't really like to label music too much- and I have love for all genres- all I try to do is write a good song-........... But something is in the air lately- and I feel like playing live again-.... so maybe ......just maybe..... I'll write songs for myself - Thanx for checking out my site! appreciate it-

The Rise of Laila Samuels

The Tuesdays was a Norwegian rock group formed in 1990. They were similar in sound to The Bangles, but had a slightly more mature feel—but still catchy pop tunes. They formed in 1990 as No Limits in Larvik, Norway. They released an album in 1994 in Norway and Japan, called, When You're A Tuesday Girl under the name The Tuesday Girls. The vocalist was Jeanette Heidenstrøm at that time. After reconfiguring to include the singer Laila Samuelsen and drummer Linda Gustafsson, they changed their name to The Tuesdays and signed with Arista in 1997. Their self-titled album had some commercial success, especially the single, "It's Up To You". Their follow-up album was rejected by Arista, and the group split up. Former lead singer Laila Samuelsen released a solo album in 2002, and is still involved in writing music.
