Online Botho UniversityDrupal itself does, and you probably need not worry about it yourself: since Drupal autogenerates the model based on info hooks (until D7) or annotations (D8) in enabled modules, there is no such thing as “the” Drupal data model, but a model per site. Having worked on some of the largest Drupal sites I’m aware of (> 4 millions lines of code on D7), the actual schema may contain more than 1000 tables. Since you normally just do not do any SQL querying in your own code, especially in D8, this doesn’t matter much ; what you really need to know is the entity/field data (+ some other pieces like K/V, cache, state, config) model, not the physical implementation, which is just an artefact and may change at any time. This being said, the diagram in one of the answers covers part of a typical D7 using the standard install profile, and may give you a hint of the general way this model is dynamically built. But of course, the current version is now 8.4, no longer 7.x, and lots of things changed, so it is not entirely relevant. Nov 25th 2019 05:26 |
