Review on The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey

Forgotten by his family, his friends and even himself, Ptolemy Grey, a ninety-one years old, sinks into a lonely dementia. Ptolemy's grand-nephew, his only link to the outside world, is recently killed in a drive-by shooting. After the death of his grand-nephew, Ptolemy is not ready to allow anyone else into his life but not until he meets Robyn. Robyn is his niece's seventeen-year-old tenant and the only one willing to take care of an old man at his grandnephew's interment.
But Robyn will not accept Ptolemy's hermitlike way of life. She defies him to intermingle more with the world around him, and he grapples more determinedly onto his fading perception. But this new doings drives Ptolemy into the fold of a doctor flaunting an experimental drug that assurances Ptolemy won't live to see age ninety- two but that he'll spend his last days in intense energy and precision. Having his mind clear, Ptolemy finds something, in his own past, in his own apartment, and in the situation flanking his grand-nephew's death, that is appalling enough to stimulate an old man to action. It is a lasting legacy that no one will forget.
