I love Skype. I have used it for years. I am able to connect with anyone anywhere in the world as long as they also have Skype downloaded on their computer.I use Skype mostly to text. I very rarely use Skype to chat.
I use to teach a Skype class, and I always expressed to my students a few basic rules when using this wonderful handy tool.
#1 Rule...Text before calling
#2 Rule...Never send a file unless the receiver is at the
other end waiting to accept.
#3 Rule...Never EVER and I mean EVER click on any links
in a Skype message unless you are absolutely SURE
the person it says it is from REALLY sent it...
EVEN if you know the person.
#4 Rule...NO SPAMMING!
Once you have downloaded Skype and start using it, you will wonder how you EVER got along without it.

 TE Owner & Social Media EnthusiastI never wanted Skype because I thought it as only with camera and mic. I was afraid i would get call all day preventing me to get any work done. Now I know better. Get-er-done kind of Gal!@mylove1 no not much at all @Paula I can not imagine being without it. To be able to SPEAK to someone you do of course need a headset. Good ones are able to be picked up for about 20 bucks. But to text... you only need to have Skype downloaded on your computer Skype is free but it also offers many options. It makes contact with associates very easy and is great way for sharing files, so long as you remember the rules that Cindy has put out there. If you are working with someone who is on the other side of the world you can bounce your ideas around instantly. Skype is also very handy for group text chat for a team of users. Unless you are an expert multi-tasker, it can be something that sucks some of your valuable time into its powerful vortex.
